Do game designers hate their fans?
I've been feeling like they do hate us, and I just cant shake that feeling. I just feel like a terrible person.

You know how retail employees feel about loud obnoxious customers? That's how game designers feel about gamers.
Loud, obnoxious, rude, belligerent people screaming at you 24/7 while under the impression they know how to do your job better than you.
It gets to the point where you give everyone that soulless smile and react as if you expect to get yelled at.
It adds up really fast when you add in the hellish working conditions for video game designers.
It's not them hating us you have to worry about, it's when they don't give a shit either way anymore that you should be concerned.
no, they just suck at their job.
yeah, I know, it's hard to tell the difference

I think the higher ups just don't care
Hate no, but dislike, possibly.
Doubt it. Publishers on the other hand. . .
They hate you because you try to tell them how to design their game when you literally have no clue what you're talking about. It's like if you tried to tell your surgeon how he should remove your gall bladder. If players actually got most of the things they ask for most games would collapse under the weight of their ignorance inside of a month.
