Help me theorycraft out some melee botlaners

Currently been playing Vi, Kassadin, and Olaf. Xin Zhao/Fiora hasn't worked out, Kayn/Darius works fine. Been thinking about trying Fizz/Akali but idk if they'd work out that well.

Literally anything will work as long as you're not playing serious games. The only valid ones would be meleers with heavy mobility and who are good against adc's like yasuo, or has a strong heavy engage. You'll be trolling alot of games trying to play those meleers against people who actually know how to lane as adc, because they'll make u pay health for every minion you try to farm. Then once you start to lose they'll just snowball on you and you'll have no path back into game.

is always pretty handy Pantheon bot

I was having a real tough time laning as Tristana vs a Syndra support

Garen is a strong pick for support role. May work well with a mage like Zyra or Syndra.

Shen MasterYi LeeSin Jayce Zed Rengar Kayle

Maybe any of these? I played Shen support a whole lot. Master Yi can wave clear well. Lee Sin can trade extremely well. Jayce is a hybrid. Zed is agile. Rengar can leap out of bushes. And Kayle can do anything.

omgee melee botlane//1?! ur trolling reported! nah, was joke. i fully support and endorse the idea. JarvanIV is a good carry, and he can also build tank and go support. Renekton could be a good carry if you have an engage support MonkeyKing probably a good carry

The only melees that succeeded when non adc bot lanes were viable were Yasuo and Irelia because they have kits built for fighting ranged champions. I'm not counting Mordekaiser because he was used as a counter to the non-adcs and sucked vs actual adcs.

The important thing in Bot lane theorycrafting is synergy between the Carry and the Support. This is why Ashe ADC+MF Support works but MF Support on most other champions is lackluster to trolling.

If you want to approach this, I suggest focusing on a Support first and seeing what melee champions pair with them well, or vice versa, prioritizing synergy above all else. One example I have from personal experience is Prework GP. He had the basic power scaling of a regular ADC and outdoes most ADCs once in melee range. If you pair him with strong engage supports like Leona or Supports with a lot of laning pressure like Lulu (back when she was stronger at least) he does fantastically. If you pair him with a weaker support like Sona or Soraka or MF, that's a losing lane.

just tried Darius support and it was nasty by 20 min i was 4/1/4 and was killer in team fights late game. my adc (tris) never got touched and went 11/0/5. tanky/damage/cc only lacking escape which was solved with ghost/flash.

You could grab Sion and add in Urgot or Ornn. Also with Ornn, get a Lissandra and enjoy the show.

Did I mention I was one of the very first to try Leona/Taric ? Fun times.

Edit: Oh and ofc there's Aatrox too, could get Ornn, Vi, Taric or a more traditional support with him.

I really want to say Irelia because she can farm under tower very easily and she can gap-close to the other side. If you had a support with a knock-up like Nami, part of me thinks Yasuo might work; doubly so against a caster ADC. I want to say Jax might work too.

I'm curious how any assassin vs a ranged botlane would work out. So Zed, Talon, Katarina, Akali, etc. Since assassins are supposed to be able to kill squishy carries, part of me things someone who knows how to play one might be able to shut the other side's adc down and then rotate to mid.

going melee bot lane is highly dependent on the enemy laners making mistakes. However, it can be done, and it is best if the support is ranged, and even better if both you and the support have reliable stuns or roots.

The most simple and effective duo bot lane with a melee hard carry is Jax/Zyra.

The first root zyra lands wins lane. jax jumps in, stuns, and bashes their skull in killing them before they even have a chance to flash.

It's not necessary to have cc to win bot lane as melee. however, if you don't, it's more reliant on ganks and/or the other team making mistakes, like getting out-traded by over-extending, not kiting effectively, etc.

Many bot laners aren't aware of a champions power in early lane phase, and can be severely punished for it. It is especially evident for players who aren't used to playing against yasuos bot lane. Playing against a yasuo is like the opposite of playing against every other adc and support. Standing behind your creeps will not save you. Instead, allied minions will provide the enemy yasuo as a means to weave in and out of your range. For this reason, it's probably why Yasuo is one of the most common melee carry champions that see the bot lane phase. Other champions can work there, but the most effective ones have reliable stuns, and are paired with a similar ranged support. It is much more risky If the support is not ranged, like Leona for instance. It can be done but you need to be mindful of all-ins, because it's really easy to end up getting double killed for nothing before you even realize you're going to get out-traded. It's also really easy to bully melee champions in lane before they ever have a chance at all-ins.

The most popular and effective "adc" in dota is Phantom Assassin who is melee. the only 2 buttons she has is a slow and a blink strike. All it's about is knowing when the strike is the "coup de grace", the name given to her ultimate, which is a passive;15% chance to critically strike for 230%/340%/450%

Mordekaiser is at least worth your time to try

Herlgar11/4/2018, 6:43:53 PM1 votes

I've had some success with Pantheon , although I was supporting. I assume it could work as a carry as well. He can easily set up kills with his stun with a bursty teammate and is quite resilient against the enemy ADC if you use his passive well.

Busty Demoness11/4/2018, 9:16:10 PM1 votes

Irelia, who saw plenty of play during "diversified bot lane" patch, would be possible with the right support.

AlienPrimate11/4/2018, 9:17:46 PM1 votes

Blitzcrank Tryndamere is pretty much a guaranteed kill after level 4 if blitz lands a hook.

Taric + anyone with a dash is pretty strong because the dash can go in then Taric can stun off of them. Taric's heals also make early sustain a little easier when getting poked.

FCJAAAAGOOOO11/4/2018, 9:22:51 PM1 votes

I remember when Tryndamere used to work LOL.

Those were simpler times.

Fizz/Akali desperately want levels so they're better off alone.

Yasuo seems solid. If there's melee hypercarry that can go botlane, it's him.

CauseSCIENCE11/4/2018, 11:02:37 PM1 votes

Basically any melee with good engage and poke

Try this guy: Pantheon

Won 8 out of 10 promos in flex with Panth ADC duoing with Leona support. Your level 3 kill potential is enormous. Just chain your CC on the ADC so they can't heal in time. You'll at the very least blow some summoners.
