"I hate Riot for politicizing League of Legends" - Community

Meanwhile,

  • Community politicizes everything by throwing the term "SJW" around like candy.
  • Community poisons its own forum with Alt-Right talking points, paranoia, ideology, etc.
  • Community threatens to curb its consumption of the LoL product until the company caves to an opposite and different political outlook.
  • Community shows that it actually is comprised of privileged Incel/MGTOW manchildren.

Just a little footnote. The Alt-Reich is comprised of angry, angry people who are incapable of basic social decency and empathy.

It takes a special kind of depraved person to re-cast a well-intentioned (if somewhat misguided and poorly executed) attempt to include groups that are traditionally marginalized in the community, and sincerely conclude that attempts to put the spotlight on said minorities equates to repression of cis-gendered white males.

The gaming community is severely ill and I'm embarrassed to be a part of it.

League of legends a Video game used for Escapism.

Political Bullshit being Forced upon the very game People use to Distract themselves from that same Political Bullshit that permeates the Real world.

Fuck right off I'm trying to Conquer the Universe as an Undead Warrior King. I don't have time for your shit!

  1. SJW is SJW.
  2. What Alt-Right talking points are you referring to? I haven't seen any.
  3. More than an opposite political outlook, it's for what's right. Sexism and discrimination is wrong.
  4. Are you assuming this or is your claim based on evidence?
  5. Feel free to leave the gaming community if you're so embarrassed and we're too ill for you to be among.

The key word in this is "poorly executed", as instead of fixing their massive blunder of creating an excluded event for people who want everyone to be "brought together" so to speak they chose to double down. It's like they accidentally set fire to a rug, and instead of getting water they got lighter fluid in the hopes that their bravery will make more people like them.

It'd just have been SO much better to EQUALLY welcome everyone.

If it was really a priority, they could just make a special mention to their non-majority-fanbase -- but this was really overboard. Any type of sexism shouldn't be tolerated.

I first realized this community is crap about a year ago.

The vast majority of this community believes it is acceptable for a cop to make sexual advances toward women while in uniform because "you miss every shot you don't take" and "ain't nobody got time to change out of their uniform before the girl leaves."

See, when people say community here, they don't mean everyone. The term community gets thrown around a lot, but in all honest, it is more like small vocal pockets that shout the loudest to make it seem like everyone is behind them. The same concept is heard in gaming, people say gamers and think all gamers are misogynistic racist assholes when most people would never actually insult people even half as much as anyone thinks.

Riot however is taking every man who doesn't identify as non binary and saying "We actively do not want you here." and no, not being allowed in for a bit isn't equality, putting black people in the back of the bus wasn't equality, that was segregation and that is what this is.

There are probably FAR more males who believe that women should be treated equally then those who believe they shouldn't, but being sexist and denying males the right to even show that...isn't equality, it is sexism.

I have been part of the online gaming infrastructure for around 18 years now, and yes, while I do hear people who harass females, for more often I will see people jump to their defense and/or flower with adoration as opposed to going out of their way to push them aside.
