Ryze Had 43% Win Rate Top and 45% Win Rate Mid and He Got Nerfed

So Ryze with 43% win rate top and 45% win rate mid got nerfed.

I'd love to see an explanation from the balance team on this one. Something like Ryze sees pro play so we gonna ignore the other 99.99% of our player base and nerf him even though he's already terrible?

Meanwhile Sion and Janna untouched...

What is going on with Riot's balance team???

Because making 1 champion worthless at low elo still leaves over 130 other champs to pick. But having 1 champion be so stupidely OP that it must be picked/banned at high elo, it would lock out over 130 other champions from being picked.

Not saying it is right, but thats the way it is.

Yes and Kassadin had a 100% banrate and wasn't nerfed for what a fucking year ? two? Ryze was insanely broken to Azir levels ( you know the busted champion you probably also complain about getting nerfed because you can't play him ) he needs a rework that's it

Unfortunately, Riot cares more about pros not needing to use a few of their bans on champions like Ryze, Azir, Kalista, and to a lesser extent Ornn and Gnar, than they do about 99.99% of the playerbase being unable to enjoy those champions without putting themselves at a disadvantage.

They also apparently care more about those champions being able to see pro play (as the obvious solution if they didn't want to force bans somehow disadvantaging red side would be to ban them from pro play automatically) ( although I've never understood why red ALWAYS bans all the op picks and blue none, leave 3 of them up and red gets 2 of them, so blue should have to participate in banning them...) Than them being reasonable picks in solo queue. When these champions are often the reason why pro games are always the same. You can't pick a top that can't survive Gnar. You can't pick squishes that can't escape a Ryze ult. You can't pick a mid that doesn't beat Azir early. You can't pick melee champions that Kalista can kite. Etc... 4 champions eliminating 30+% of the potential roster.

It's not even exclusive to pros tho, a good Ryze can be obnoxious in higher tiers, and the ap item reworks were a nice buff to him as an AA staff user.

Honestly, if someone doesn't want to aspire to learn the champion well enough to play them to that ability, they should probably look towards other champions.

Didn't Sion had a bugfix where his E's hitbox was larger than it looks?

Bring back the old Ryze!

Because

"muh LCS"

"muh big plays"

etc etc

Because there's a huge difference between Ryze's performance across skill levels. Basically he's trash design that's impossible for them to keep balanced on both ends. It's the lesser of two evils until they give him a real rework (i.e where they stop fucking around like with the last 20 and actually change him).

I recently noticed that for a very high number of top rank players (talking top 100 players here) Ryze is actually their most played Champion...
