What if....they reverted the whole rune system?
Most of players are saying how runes have too much damage built into them. Which runes were better since Im not that old of a player. New ones or the old ones?

Old runes were absolute shit to deal with. Just 30 statsticks you had to apply. Most runes were garbage or only useful for cheese. You realistically had 1 viable page per champion and you just swapped out armor and MR as needed.
Old masteries were weak as fuck outside of the keystones. 5 points got you a grand total of +2% ability damage or +2% auto damage. You didn't get both.
Most of players are saying
You're wrong. Period. Zero exceptions.
The subreddit isn't even 10% of the community once you count every single subscriber to it. Active subreddit users are likely less than 1% of all League players. The boards are an abysmally tiny fraction of that, with there only being 100, maybe 150 legitimate NA boards users.
You have not seen most players in your life. Most players have not agreed on shit, because they're not on a unified platform. Because of this, any statement that starts with "most players say" is inherently false.
And you have to keep in mind that people don't tend to make posts saying "Everything is fine". They make posts and visit them when something is not fine to them.
So runes were just a horrible idea. Like they actually HAD more damage but people ignore that fact and lie saying there is more damage in current runes since apparently they can't do basic math.
Also runes don't really exist now and that's good, they were boring like they just gave stats HOW IS THAT FUN and they were also not super impactful like IT'S JUST STATS and like in my opinion games like league shouldn't have stuff like that in them since you cant see them.
The ironic thing is people complain about champions getting stats from abilities for just pressing them but so many people want runes back WHICH WERE NOTHING BUT FREE STATS.
New runes are just the mastery system and the ONLY comparison to old runes is the 3 stats you can choose from(which in my opinion should be removed) but that's it. Also the old mastery system has more damage in it.
Old runes were by far worse design wise.
You had 0 options as to what runes you took. Anything else was a trap. Your only "options" were "am i laning against AD or AP damage", so you got to choose between flat AR and scaling MR, or scaling AR and flat MR. Such diversity. And old masteries were also a solved system.
New runes are more versatile. You have options into matchups, as well as playstyle preferences. Electrocute and DH do similar things, extending burst patterns, and you can opt to pick either all ins or finishing off targets with DH, or more reliable trades and all ins with Electrocute, depending on which you personally prefer.
You can opt for lane sustain with footwork, especially if you also build stormrazor path, or extra damage with PTA/LT.
Given the new runes are far less about flat stats and more about enhancing playstyles, you can actually have variable builds that all function close enough together to at least be viable.
I can take comet, spellbook, glacial augment, dark harvest, aery, or electrocute on Lux, and every single one of those options will be entirely viable depending on my matchup, my build, and my own personal playstyle.
new runes are more "fun" the old ones were easier to balance around but also had a huge slew of problems with 3 tiers of runes of differing cost and differing powerr but there was no reason to use the weaker ones so it was a noob trap and requiring people to be max level to effectively use runes in the first place.
Old Runes are better. Just make them free and editable in champ select.
dodge runes
New runes deal more damage sometimes, old runes gave less damage but always Old runes overall were stupid, expensive and uninteractive. There wasn't really any choice, they had no effect on your gameplay, they just were there.
