With the new leveling system coming out will long time players be rewarded?

So Riot announced that in pre season they will be lifting the level 30 cap. What I'm wondering is for us players that have played since the beginning and have x000 games will Riot compensate us for our time and level up our accounts to where we belong based on the number of games we've played? (Or another way if there is a better way of doing this)

I don't feel it is fair to us long term players that we should be the same level as an account that just freshly leveled to 30 and only has 50-100 games. Especially since when we leveled to 30 it took twice as much time as the exp req to 30 was cut in half a little ways back.

In terms of compensation, if Riot were to give us our levels some of us would be getting an insane amount of boxes, and I'm not sure what Riot's call on this would be but we did put in that time so you could argue that we do deserve those boxes. If I'm not mistaken HotS had a similar update like this where they raised the level cap and you were given a player level based on your combined heroes' levels. Players were for the most part fully compensated with loot chests(boxes) for all the levels that they attained when the update hit, so I don't see why we wouldn't be either?
