In retrospect, popular music from the 2000's wasn't as bad as claimed to be.

No clue why people were saying music went to shit in that era.

Here's a song that told a story and wasn't just one verse on repeat:

2000s were ok but the popular bands were as usually shit.

my favorite era of music is 90s but then again alot of my fav bands are grunge bands. for me its 90s, 70s, 60s, 80s/00s in terms of fav but then again im a rock/metal head

Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Britney Spears, Nickelback, Creed, Papa Roach, Chingy, Smashmouth, Crazy Town, Good Charlotte, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, Beastie Boys, Soulja Boy and Pitbull. Not all the music in that era was bad but the quantity of the really crappy stuff grew immensely.

One of the major people we have to thank for the mainstream success of crappy boy bands is Lou Pearlman who ironically was more interested in boys than in bands. He's dead now, died in prison. If it wasn't for him the backstreet boys and all those other boy bands would hopefully have never been mainstream and good music like Tracey Chapman, Dave Matthews Band and so many others would have gotten the publicity that they deserved.

Every decade of music has a crap ton of awesome music and a crap ton of bad music.

If you like rock music, it peaked around 2008. Went quickly downhill after that. There's still some good stuff but not in the same quantity that it was in during the 80s-2000s.
