Why I'm not Mad at @RiotAugust

Yes, what he said is wrong.

He shouldn't have said what he said. I don't agree with what he said.

Yes, it hurt a lot of people. Contributors or creators and staff. No hate to everybody here.

But just imagine working on champions for so long and being so excited about them, just to be bashed with opinions or being lashed out as for not having designs that are good enough. Of course these designs or reworks would have disappointed at least somebody, he's not here to read our minds or know what we want exactly, of course we don't like some things about the reworks, and he should have remembered that these are people's opinions, but we are all human and we feel emotions and obviously frustrated. And let's not forget there are some people on the boards who just give unconstructive "advice" and just keep complaining. I don't think he's trying to say the boards are all useless, I just think it was a heat of the moment thing, although he neglected the good side of the boards who truly do voice their opinions politely.

Just put yourself in his shoes for a second? Of course as somebody who watches from the side, we'll most likely say we don't this/that, but when we're actually him, it's a whole different story. I'm not saying he's justified for what he did, just don't think he deserves all this hate after designing these two champions which I honestly love. Thank you RiotAugust for designing them, what you said wasn't right, but you don't deserve to be flamed at.

[slayer-pantheon-thumbs] please discuss below politely, I don't want to start any arguments. This is just what I think.

Well, his change was a huge thematic shift for the character. Regardless of how hard he worked on it he really should have expected this sort of response. Regardless, a lot of people work hard on trying to make the boards a nice environment and take literally hours out of their day creating discussions and commenting on other topics to create a friendly and welcoming community. Putting those people in the same category as the genuinely toxic people is really narrow minded of him, especially as it's his company's responsibility to change such a thing if they feel this way.

What truly upsetting is how he completely ignored the volunteers who spend their days moderating this place, for free and calling their work useless. Honestly, I think he's right about a lot of the things he said. This place is quite toxic and are often just flaming people instead of creating actual discussions, but he had absolutely no right attacking the mods like he did.

I agree that he shouldn't have said things like this, it leaves a bad mark on him and the company. Yet I disagree with the rest. If you are working for a company with a lot of customers, your job would as a designer would be to please a lot of customers at the same time. From an artistic choice: It's his design, his idea and it should be seen as that and should be respected.

But Riot is a company, not a gallery. They have to please customers, so said customers buy their stuff. They just had to keep the armor on base Kayle and everyone would have been happy. Instead they went full horny on her, gave everything armor except for the parts that needed armor. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the changes (except for Aether wing kayle, I want my orange essences back) but they disappointed a lot of mains or people who slightly enjoyed old Kayle (like me with the Aether Wing skin, fck am I mad about that one).

I can understand him being mad at people criticizing his work Rioters shouldn't forget that they work for a company that wants them to deliver stuff that their customers enjoy. You see, they asked malicious metal about mordes rework and even invited him, yet there was almost no talk about Kayles rework.

Kayle rework aside, I agree that the boards can be harsh sometimes and most of the time be pretty useless. (lookin at all these "gut this champ" posts)

He is a professional designer tho. He is not some school girl who would cry if somebody tells her her drawing is ugly. If he can't take criticism and thrash talking then he might as well quit. If this is the reason for him calling us usless (which imo is one of the worst things you can call someone), the heck even I take criticism better then him and I am a perfectionist who gets depressed after drawing one wrong line.
