Like wat? Why would I even report anybody for afk/leaving if this will change nothing? He will just get leave buster from auto- system. There are no any penalties that could be imposed on anybody who was reported for leaving or afk. Seriously. What is the reason for leaving this option in report panel? U can change this with something different.
Exactly, if someone leaves the game i don't report them for leaving if i see their names in red after the game ends because leaver buster handles that kind of stuff, however if they just circle in base and afk without triggering the leaver system i then use that report option.
It is theoretically possible for someone to be manually banned if they were to rack up a ton of those reports.
It's to cover cases where someone rage quits maliciously so there's an extra negative mark on their account beyond the leaverbuster, plus sometimes people figure out new ways to try and avoid getting caught by the afk system such as the guy that discovered that at the time you were never counted as afk while you are 'in combat' so he set up a heimer turret in the jungle somewhere it would keep aggroing and resetting a monster without killing it so he could afk bot games.
Leaverbuster is a penalty though?
And as others have said, the reports help catch cases that fly by the automated system - however rare that is.
