When are we getting another black female champion?

I know some players don't necessarily care about stuff like this. There is already a decent amount of diversity in the game (so many kinds of champions, ranging from creatures to humanoids etc etc). However, it never hurts to have more kinds of champions. To my knowledge right now Karma is the only female champion that resembles a black woman, but her design still seems more Asian-inspired over anything else. You have Lucian, Pyke and Ekko as black men who I think added some nice variety to the champion roster as well. But where's our woman?

Qiyana was your chance to include an actual black woman from the jungle, lore-wise, and she turned out to be another Nidalee in a white wig. I'm just wondering if anyone else would love to see a champion like this. I feel like they would be able to make her really badass and really beautiful. A mage, maybe? I don't think this should be the focus of the game or the only reason behind their new champions but I do think eventually adding someone like this would be a nice touch to their franchise.

This is probably the exact reason they didn't make her black: because certain people would look at her and say "Why does this game's only true black woman live in the jungle? IS THAT SOME KIND OF RACIST JOKE?? ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY BLACK PEOPLE ARE JUNGLE ANIMALS?" Riot wanted to avoid all that controversy before it occurred, so they made her racially ambiguous.

In any case, there's no real reason to create a black female champion just because. The roster is already very diverse, as you mentioned. Furthermore, the League of Legends universe is completely different from ours. We have no idea what their world looks like geographically or culturally, so it's unreasonable to project our own conceptions of race onto League's champions. Not only that, but bringing gender/racial politics into every little aspect of the game is a recipe for disaster, as Riot's previous PR nightmares can attest to.

Inb4 someone eventually brings out the shot called "forced diversity is bad" yet don't mention anything about "forced white default is bad too".

After all, clearly it's only when dealing with diverse characters when we suddenly have to be all careful and be considerate about every single move on the writing and anything short of the bestest of writing worthy of being a magnum opus is automatically a giant blunder on the diversity and that the mere notion of diverse cast is thus fundamentally a mistake, amirite?

Diversity is good. Forced Diversity is bad.

Forced diversity is bad because it puts design on a quota versus "making a good character". This is partly why people were upset at others running wild with "Neeko is lesbian!" when she was released. That sort of attention drowns out the other parts of her character and puts her orientation at the forefront and inflating its importance. Sexuality (both orientation and identity) is about as important as Miss Fortune having red hair.

This is the dumbest shit ever. After all riot is a company in a western country, with majorly white citizens. Why does diversity and inclusivity have to be pushed down our throats. Calm your ass down and just play the game.

I think it's interesting so many people have an attitude towards this topic and disagree with it.

I mean i dont mind the next female champ to be a hot black typical eye candy ~~criminal ~~ victim getting chased by cops garen and caitlyn and getting shot in the hood ie booty.

Ive been waiting desperately for a cool looking obviously black female character ad ive been playing for 5+ years. Not that I dont like the white characters (Janna main here) its just nice to have the option sometimes. I will say that its nice that they gave a clearly latin american character which is also rarely seen.
