A few questions for the most veteran of League's players
Can you tell me more about leagues alpha, beta and everything that you think changed in ways that changed the game forever, from your perspective?

This seems like a homework assignment.
I bought LoL in a box in a store, it came on a disc and included a cool poster. I got a cool silver Kayle skin for supporting the game. I got a neat Rammus skin that looks like Bowser for having participated in the beta. They gave away Nightmare Cho'gath for signing up to some website or other. They gave away UFO Corki early on to get more people interested in buying skins.
I'm currently sporting this icon because I loved Dominion. The best game mode that they sadly removed.
You used to be able to start in the bottom left regardless of which team you where, but it messed with the brush. There used to be brush in front of the dragon and baron pits.
You can see many differences with simple youtube searches. Youtube would probably be a really good place to look instead of these forums.
End of Season 1 is when I started.
What do you want to know
I loved that the game didn't feature 'deny' as a mechanic. I played DotA back in the day, and it was so refreshing to not have to kill your own allies whenever they got weak. So glad that's still the case.
Really, it's still the same game it was in the beta, just there's a lot MORE of it, and Riot has gotten a lot better at champion design.
Games are a lot shorter now. I also find that people are less willing to try and make a come back when its totally possible.
Tl;DR:
Games are shorter People give up too easily
The old days of LoL was a mad house. It was kill or be killed. Ashe vs Cait top. Alistar vs Blitz mid. Veigar/Olaf vs Lux/Ashe bot. Nunu jungled.
There was a summoner spell called Clairvoyance. It was the supports job to take this spell and cast it at the start of the game on the enemy base to see who was going to what lane and what starting item the bought. Clairvoyance was not cast again until barron was up.
It was the supports, and ONLY THE SUPPORTS, job buy AND place wards for bot, mid, jungle and top.
This was the golden age of LoL.
Wasn't around for alpha, may have been here for the tail end of open beta on my first account (honestly not sure, I know it was preS1 though).
-Flash used to be roughly double the range and pop projectiles mid flight. -Turrets used to not suck dick. -TF used to have his teleport at level 1. (Seriously, people bitch about CT's designs, but Guinsoo was the grand-daddy of shit tier kit design back then) -Shaco/Eve/Twitch used to stack boots and 5 sunfire capes, then kill you just by walking around you while stealthed. -Eve/Twitch stealth used to last a minute (lul). -Zilean used to have something like an effective 24 or 28 second CD on his ult if done right. -GP could troll his Annie team mate by 1-shotting her Tibbers with Raise Morale, which served as the only source of minion denial in the game. -Games weren't more or less decided within the first 8 minutes, there was always room for a comeback, and people were more willing to stick with the match for that comeback. -Nidalee used to not be able to aim pounce with her mouse, not have her cougar form pre-6 (RIP the better days, before they basically forced her to jungle), have IIRC a 1.2AP ratio on her heal, had traps that would reveal wards and shred a ton of armor+mr, and spear hit boxes the size of a school bus. -Ez W used to heal on top of its other effects. -Ali and Udyr became nearly immortal if they managed to get Leviathan full stacked coupled with Innervating Locket.
