Whose fault is it if you lose a game because your champion is outclassed

and underpowered due to poor balancing and because recent champions have far more mechanical advantages and mobility?

Whose fault is it if your champion pool is simply outclassed by the influx of new champions, yet you continue playing your outdated roster and lose due to mechanical and mobile pressure's that your champion just lacks.

What I'm asking is if its the player's fault for picking the champion, or if it's Riot's fault for releasing champions with this level of mechanics while a large number still lack in them, to the point to where the only effective means of balance is to increase the damage of the outdated champions.

This thread is not questioning a players skill, rather the champions and how they are considered fair enough to be in a competitive game against other players using (possibly) less effective champions. (Less effective as in aren't overtuned or broken). Any input is welcomed.

It's your fault.

I mean. It just says you should keep up with the game but on the other hand. Not everyone goes buying all the champions to make a champion pool. Take a midlane main, his/her champion pool would consist of the 2 classes in mid Assassins and mages, and some champions for other roles. But if riot makes a new champion a tankish midlaner or a brusier mid, then yes it’s riots fault, b/c not everyone grinds out be. Not everyone plays everything new. So it’s a 50/50 but in the current time, new champions are on the trending sides of unbalanced abominations so yes it’s riots fault.

Well, that's a rather biased opening question. It is still a split responsibility though, if we persist in feeling the need to assign blame: Riot's for having a champion that requires work, and yours for picking that champion in a game environment where they are outclassed.

The reality of asymmetrical game balance, however, is that there will always be some champions doing better than others, and some that struggle or excel even more than usual during periods of large gameplay upheaval such as the one we're experiencing now. It is impossible to keep the game perfectly balanced at all times, and, when big changes occur, often impossible to keep some champions competitive -- especially those who may benefit from changes to their kits due to this sort of feast/famine situation.

If we asked Riot to hold off on any change that would benefit long-term gameplay until the short-term is perfectly balanced and all champion kits have been updated, gameplay development and new content would grind to a screeching halt, especially because it may not be POSSIBLE to evenly balance all champions for the current game environment.

>Implying its only one party's fault

its riot's fault that a champion is outclassed and weak, But if you Know Said champ is outclassed and weak, Its your fault for picking them.

Clearly it's your fault for either not playing 24/7 to farm xp and thus blue essence for the new OP champs, or for not shelling out 20 bucks each month to buy them. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Ive been playing Heimerdinger for years and years and years. Its my fault if I lose. The old champions are fine. Theyre more tactical than twitch reflexes, but theyre rewarded for it. If you cant handle that then its your fault for picking one.
