your upvote/downvote power should increase based on rank

As it stands, low elo players completely dominate the flow of the Gameplay section and it's impossible to argue against them without getting downvoted into oblivion.

This is simply unacceptable

If that were true, Khazix wouldn't be playable

But Riot doesn't balance for a specific ELO. They balance for all ELOs.

everyone knows gameplay isnt the place for real discussion, only circlejerk. hence the "most upvoted shown first" format.

Hm. What are the percentages by each rank?

leagueofgraphs.com claims:

Challenger - 0.03% Master - 0.05% Diamond - 1.61% Platinum - 7.66% Gold - 21.09% Silver - 48.59% Bronze - 20.98%

Our goal is then to give each tier the same number of total votes, despite the difference in population. Because we're using votes, we'll use a minimum of 1; silver and bronze players get 1 vote each. We will then combine the population of silver and bronze and compare the others to it.

Minimum tier has (69.57/21.09) = 3.298 times the population of gold, so each gold player gets 3 votes. (69.57/7.66) = 9.08, so each plat player gets 9 votes. (69.57/1.61) = 43.2, so each diamond player gets 43 votes. (69.57/0.05) = 1391.5, so each masters player gets 1392 votes. (69.57/0.03) = 2319, so each challenger player gets 2319 votes.

Yup, this all seems perfectly fair to me, implement that shit Riot.

Thread went from +6 to +2 I see the low elos have arrived

Technically there is a way to argue against them without being buried in downvotes, first you have to do some warmups, I like to call these thinking stretches, then once you're good and ready it just takes some easy-squeezy mental gymnastics and a speech better written than "I have a dream."

Ok but all joking aside, you really can reason with people, it helps to present things reasonably and without any hint of superiority.

doesnt riot only listen to reddit for balance feedbacks

Huang Shaotian3/19/2018, 11:56:00 PM1 votes

Riot are more interested in balancing around public perception, than actual proof and evidence. This is because certain champions can feel crazy op and obnoxious when you play against them but actually they are pretty trash. So riot would rather balance those champions because they are ruining peoples experience. But if there is a champion that is really OP but no one really cares about it because they don't feel bad to play against, they generally leave them.

Sounds to me more like an indirect rank shaming , those downvotes are being abused by players from all Elo's , simply , Up/downvoting system was made about if you find this Comment helpful or not , but now , people are using it as a self satisfactory , they up and downvote dependsif they liked your comment or not , depends on if they agree or not , sadly but yeah , Downvote system must be removed

FurriesAreHot3/20/2018, 12:43:59 PM1 votes

So you literally want higher skilled player's opinions to matter more. For a voting system. That purely shows opinion.

The trouble with mental gymnastics is it can often leave you in the wrong :^)

The trick is not to get drunk on it [slayer-jinx-wink]

Maybe just make upvotes and downvotes about post quality instead of agreeing/disagreeing because muh circlejerking/hipster opinions

Like really guys it's not that hard.

It doesn't matter whether x poster agrees (mainstream circlejerkers upvote) or not ("haHA I'm above the boards" circlejerkers upvote) with the main opinion, this isn't kindergarten. What matters is the amount of discussion that can come up even from a post made with flawed knowledge.

This especially applies to game design and not skill based posts.

TBH some days I want to intentionally abuse the system just to show how broken it is since there are people who do that unironically and decide what gets buried in the new section (and the people responsible for LoL boards algorithm and voting system don't give a single fuck). Maybe one day I'll create a discord called "lol boards broken" and just ask everyone to shit post gameplay and upvote each other so the hot section is filled with stupid things unrelated to actual LoL gameplay.

Vizulix3/20/2018, 8:26:07 AM1 votes

No. Just no.

Just because a person is low elo does not mean they should automatically have their opinions be less weighted then that of a high elo player.

It has not occured to some, that a good portion of low elo players may actually have some semblance of game knowledge and are instead being held back from climbing by weakness in other areas (mechanics, map awareness, etc.)
