So, I've had a few privacy concerns over the last week or so and was not really satisfactorily advised by people in the appropriate channel (inb4 'take your ban kid'...not even sweating that, whatever, I already served it). Someone told me that they could not process an information request about the IFS for me because that information is protected under their privacy policy. I asked for reference to the line and page #, but got the classic "we will not discuss this further, the matter is closed). I began to get frustrated with the lack of evidence prevented to refute my case, so I read the ToS, the privacy policy, and the summoner code exhaustively (as well as all posts on tribunal and tribunal code. Even though the system was retired it seems some of the policy was merged into the IFS system).

From doing so there's some important points all players should now. If I'm wrong on any of these please correct me. (don't take this information as legally binding or coming from riot. Please consult https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/legal/termsofuse before finalizing any ideas):

  1. It seems like riot has the right to ban your account without notice or cause. So, everyone saying riot wrongfully banned their account, riot investigations don't have to offer justification (can someone correct me if I'm wrong on this. This part was a little ambiguous to me). Offering justification and investigation is a courtesy offered by riot to improve equitability.
  2. All the posts praying for class action law suits. They aren't coming. you agreed that any non small-claims court will be handled by an arbitrator, and that the arbitrator will not hear class action or collective lawsuits.
  3. (I found this one interesting. I have never been told about this avenue by anyone affiliated with the company) If you have any issue with Riot's use of your data or concerns with the privacy policy, you are allowed to contact a 3rd party partner of Riot for dispute resolution at no cost to the customer. Let me repeat the most important part of that, It is for privacy and data use concerns only - Don't spam it with your unsolved Riot help requests please. Its very accommodating that they offer this and can have some serious applications for dried up privacy tickets stuck in the system. Please do not abuse, link in description.

To avoid derailing this thread with the specifics of why OP is concerned or frustrated, I will leave my comment at this: TrustE is an independent organization that certifies websites and companies on the basis of strong privacy policies that protect consumers. If you feel Riot has violated their privacy policy, obviously you should attempt to resolve it with Riot first, but TrustE is an independent organization that can assist you in pressuring Riot if they have made a mistake or errored in application of their privacy policy. TrustE will not and cannot force change in policy, nor can they force Riot to violate their policy, nor to release information that they do not wish to release.

so for the absolute fool who cannot comprehend what your wall of text just mentioned...

This is a link to a 3rd party to yell at riot to reveal how they used the data? (Example : Explain my ban, what was the trigger?!) or is this just to make them open up the chamber of secrets they have regarding what they are doing to the data we submit through the gameplay/forums/systems so we can see there's no shenanigans?

I'm the one who will wait patiently for a ticket to resolve, but this....

Something tells me upvoting this would cause Riot to pee themselves a tiny bit.

There's another note in the terms of service that says "If any part of this cannot be legally enforced, that sole section will not be enforced."

In other words, they can't forbid a class action lawsuit if they suddenly released all of the victorious skins as rewards for hitting Gold 5 in ranked.
