Here are two scenarios

Scenario 1

(+500 upvotes) Silver player: Yasuo is op (500 downvotes)Diamond player: Yasuo is fine stop being silver (500 upvotes) silver player: DON'T RANK SHAME!!!1!!! (100-400 upvotes each) hoard of players: RANK SHAMING IS BAD UR MEEEEEEN

Scenario 2

(400 downvotes) Silver player: Wow i really like being a yasuo main now! (30000000 upvotes) Random player: UR FUCKIN SILVER SHUT UP U NUB (180000000000 downvotes) Silver player: Dude I was just talking about my new main i wanted to talk to the community in this game i love about my new favorite character to play, what does being silver have anything to do with this (100-9001 upvotes) Random assorted players: STFU BRONZIE WIMP I HOPE U GET STERILIZED FOR BEING BAD AT THIS GAME UR BAD AND PLZ NEVER REPRODUCE

Am I the only one seeing the hypocrisy?

The first one I disagree with the silver player. The second one I agree with neither of them. It's not because he's silver, though. In the first one it's because he's making a false claim. In the second one it's because he's playing yasuo and the other guy is flaming him for enjoying the game.

The first one is more like 20 upvotes when Yasuo isn't legitimately overtuned and in every game.

The latter literally doesn't happen. Like I guess if we take this for the exaggeration this obviously is some people will hate on people for playing certain champions, but is someone who hates Yasuo also going to say they aren't OP? These are clearly different crowds of people. The latter situation you might see downvotes on the OP but it almost certainly doesn't involve rank, its people just saying that Yasuo is cancer or Riven or Vayne or whoever the scapegoat is. If it does involve ranked shaming I will say you certainly found a scenario that's pretty rare on these boards.

Like I play at a Silver level and mostly get upvoted despite playing a champion most people hate as a main. You're more likely to get downvote/upvote bombs if you call something OP than if you simply say you like a champion's playstyle. Like plenty of people have gotten upvoted saying they find Zoe a fun champion and they only get downvoted if they try to argue its got counterplay or is balanced. Pretty much what you're seeing has nothing to do with rank, but bias on what should be buffed/nerfed.
