twisted treeline

Dear developers and players. I have been playing league of legends for a period of about six years now. Few of these years i have actually put attention into the summoners rift. I always felt that the 3 vs 3 map gives a faster dynamic and that is why my heart lies there. Only after the changes to the twisted treeline map i feel like it has gone downhill. Although i do not care much for changes on the map, changes for the twisted treeline are now needed more then ever. there are tier lists online that state the champions to be played for almost a guaranteed win. I have heard some people say its the league of tanks. Champions such as illaoi, Nasus, Galio and so on are ridiculously strong while champions such as Shaco will bite the dust only due to the map layout, the visibility trinket and the underpoweredness. People will actually tell you not to play some champions in the champion select as their winrates are incredibly low. Tanks seem to be doing as much and often more damage than assassins. Champions like nasus that can stack in the jungle of the twisted treeline map is at 200 stacks in 5 minutes.. I feel like buffs and nerves are meant to balance out the 5v5 map but thereby the consequence for 3v3 is forgotten. I would like for the development team to take a look at the twisted treeline and think up some balance as it is much needed!

Also it seems the twisted treeline does not really count for league of legends. As league does not keep track of your statistics for the twisted treeline and you will not get any tokens for playing it. Also no mastery score can be achieved by playing 3 vs 3. I am sure there are players like me that like to play 3v3 better then 5v5. It would be great if there could be some attention directed it so that i can at least get a mastery score and tokens by playing only 3v3.

There are a bunch of things that I would like to see changed on the Twisted Treeline. First of all, I like that game mode more than the common 5v5 aswell. The games are shorter and there is much more aggression. Right now champions are being balanced around the 5v5 map and thus making some champions (Poppy for instance) way to strong in 3v3.

Hyper was a common thing in 3v3 (still is) where one person would take the jungle farm and head straight to lane to grab that farm aswell while someone else would support this person. This later got abused on the 5v5 map where a Taric would go mid, freezing the lane not taking CS and give all of his CS to the jungler (in most cases this was a Master Yi in 5v5). This then became a issue. So it got nerfed to the ground by making the gold income you will receive from the lane as a jungler way less than it is supposed to be until u finish your jungle item.

This is just an example that everything we see in 3v3 comes straight out of 5v5.

Don't get me wrong, I disliked the hyper meta since I've first laid eyes on it. It was just way better and kinda needed to climb the ladders in 3v3. In my opinion, the hyper meta is killing the map.

We all know that the 3v3 map is not perfect and unbalanced. It has been like this for years and we've not had any update howsoever on things that might come or get changed. We want updates, statements from you Riot telling us what is to come next and how you will address certain problems. Only then can we provide feedback. It feels like the 3v3 playerbase is unheard and left alone.

TT is what happens when something with so much potential is left to rot in the backseat.

Yes please! I still think the TT map is just gorgeous. It has so much potential!

Summoner’s Rift is the main LoL gamemode but I think TT should still get some love. I say they should completely rework the map, maybe make it bigger especially and add new content. I like the unique thing on that map where base towers have lots of attack speed and are actually good unlike SR base towers and the altar concept and having a heal in the middle of the map is cool. I also think passive gold could be increased like ARAM because it’s a fast gamemode so late game champs are not that good because it can take awhile for them to get their core items.

I agree wholeheartedly!

I would like to see a comeback of TT. However, my problem with TT is the hyper-meta which is around for a long time now. If you're a solo jungle and you have to play vs a Graves/Taric comb (for example) you literally have no chance of winning. That's the system which takes away all the fun for me. I used to win a lot of TT ranked games before koreans came up with it.

It also takes away the meaning of "better jungler/laner wins"...

If Riot would hard nerf that sht, I wouldn't mind playing it again. Otherwise I rather stick to SR.

TT exists for botting software to grind, nothing more

I really wish they gutted hyper or gave some way for a jungle meta to actually realistically fight it. Every game playing against a fed carry with several items and levels above everyone else who also has a support constantly hugging them makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Especially since the carry is fed purely from PvE, and the 'counter' is being a perfectly coordinated 3 man that can win invades and forcibly taking every single jungle camp as soon as it spawns and respawns.

Like the extremely handsome gentleman before me, I also agree completely.

Every change is welcome

Im far from an expert or knowledgeable on balancing out the game and uptill now i can only come up with one proposal for solution: make everyone ban twice. So 6 bans in total. that way the really overpowered comps and champs can be banned out. I think this will help steer the twisted treeline towards a better direction

Thank you for your reply's. It is much needed that the community takes a stance on the unbalanced hell hole that is called twisted treeline.

Twisted Treeline

What's that?[sg-zephyr]

Twisted Treeline is an unbalanced mess of a gamemode. Every match is basically won or lost at champ select, whoever has the strongest early game comp wins 9 times out of 10, because damage is absurd and everyone blows each other up even with little to no items. There is no safety whatsoever, even the slightest misstep equals death, unless you're playing someone mobile, overtuned or are running a support/funnel comp. I mean, these problems aren't exactly new, but they've been exacerbated over last few years with no proper response from Riot.

All it takes are 1-2 kills to snowball, and there's not much the losing team can do to stop it unless the winning team constantly throws. Games are decided in the first 5-10 minutes, yet the surrender option isn't available until 15 minutes.

To make things worse, the matchmaking is god awful. If you go on any kind of winstreak, you're eventually going to get matched with people with no sense of teamplay, while the enemy team will coordinate competently (ganking and rotating as a team) while permakiting, dodging nearly everything you throw at them, and escaping with a sliver of health.

Even when you win it doesn't feel satisfying, as the enemy can't really do much to stop you, and you'll often have not even completed two items before the game ends. This wouldn't be nearly as frustrating if the queue times weren't half as long as the game length itself. If your wait time is longer than 5-10 minutes you might as well not even bother, because matchmaking is going to screw you.

It's simply amazing that Dominion was removed and this utter nonsense is all that's left to play. I miss the times when every game wasn't a binary snowball circus, but it looks like those times are never coming back.

I played about 50 games of TT last season to try to get the Orianna chroma. I actually enjoyed it a lot, despite not quite getting to gold. Anyway the game was tolerable if people banned out the really nasty champs (ie - Kayn), and picked above average champs. If you go in with the SR meta in mind, yeah it's a complete joke. But if you compensate for a drastically reduced champion pool it's really not so bad. At least in high Silver where I was at.

I agree though. Some champ-specific buffs and nerfs like Riot does with ARAM would be MUCH appreciated.
