with an MMO they could actually have lore that matters
I'd be interested in exploring the settings and seeing the lore. But I don't like the idea of having much (if any) face-to-face time with champions. Name drops, sure (that'd be pretty unavoidable), but they shouldn't be someone you run into all the time.
I think you'd really have to emphasize "You're from X region - and here's how it impacts how you look and what you can do". Make someone from Piltover really stand out if they're wandering Bilgewater, or vice versa.
Heck no. An RTS would be better.
Would love an MMO based on League of Legends but please don't make your standard WoW clone MMO. Those MMOs are in the past with the exception of well... WoW.
Think of unique systems and use something like other upcoming MMOs like:
Crowfall, Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, Camelot Unchained etc...
Yay just to see them waste money and fail
I'm convinced that if riot returned to their old values, any game they release will be world class.
The old values in question here would be 'players come first'
they failed to make a decent client. if they do make a mmo don't expect it to be the wow killer or even an anything killer looooooool
I'd be down for a League MMO
I wouldn't mind the Champions having the same face-time as the GW1 Heroes in GW2. They're mostly linked to major story arches and depending on your race/region/faction you might only see a handful of them. imagines Jynx pulling some kind of story arch similar to Scarlett. Logging in to "Just a little bit of Panic."
I'd also imagine a very guild wars type approach to abilities. Rather than a WoW-esque ability bar for days, players having to slot their abilities for qwerdf. Giving it a feel much closer to the MOBA and a bit more like crafting your own League Champion. Though unlike GW, I wouldn't imagine the abilities tied to specific weapons. But perhaps Races / Factions / Classes.
I'd think the experience of the Rift can definitely manifest itself in the world in subtle and metaphorical ways.
I'd even applaud ability collection ala GW1, tying in champions to learn skills and abilities from them.

How about a single player adventure. Like with dragons age origins, experience a different prologue mission based on your race and origin city of choice, before entering the main story.
Either he's trolling or Morello has been working on an MMO for years.
If they started one now, it couldn't possibly be released in time to still have any hype generated from this tweet (unless it was shit, of course, which I guess is always a possibility).
My answer is somewhat similar to this guy...
i'd rather see a singleplayer rpg any type of rpg is fine. Not really a fan of grindfests. If they do go with an mmo they better create unique classes and not just "the vi class", "the karthus class", etc...
Riot should never make another game until they can actually make the one they have now a properly balanced piece of work instead of a cesspool of garbage. exspecially an mmo, don't ruin a great game type with this bs. riot games, you suck.
