How can a ranking system fairly rank a person just off wins and losses when each game any one teammate is only 1/5 of the team? What if the bot lane goes 1/6 in the first ten minutes? Or if the jungler AFK farms the jungle until they get their first item spike? How can the actions of others affect a person's ranking? Is there a better way to judge a person's ranking aside from wins and losses?

Although you do go up and down based on winning and losing, it's not just based on wins and loses. It's based on relative skill. Two people could have the same record during their placement games and end up in two different leagues, one might end up platinum while the other in bronze.
