"So we can focus on our larger game modes"

A quote from why Riot is removing Twisted Treeline: "Like Dominion before it, we’re sad to see a longtime part of the game disappear. But we feel this is the best decision for League, as it lets us keep our focus on our larger game modes."

They're acting as if they've been putting resources into 3v3's. Its balance has been a joke for years. Cuz fuck anything thats not rift or TFT right?

There goes one of the last game modes my friends will play with me.

Thanks Riot

I am So fucking sick sick sick Sick Sick sick SICK of hearing about Teamfight tactics and I cant wait for its hayday to end and remain a shell of its peak. Shit like this is doomed from the start it just takes a little longer than 2 weeks to burn out.

I want Nexus Siege back, I want a new map like Magma chamber. I don't want Blitz, I don't want Autochess.

They are focusing everything at TFT. Look at SR, it's literally infested with game-breaking bugs by the daily and they are going NOTHING about it.

BRING BACK DOMINION

At least for customs...

"Outside of the player population, Twisted Treeline’s art, map design, and even game pacing don’t meet today’s current quality bar and player needs."

This just infuriates me. They've left this mode to rot for literal years, refusing to properly apply any sort of balance changes for it. Then, instead of investing time and energy into updating it, they just let it die. I am actually done with Riot only investing resources into things that make them money.

They even admitted URF is their most popular spin off mode "though TFT is giving it a run for its money" and yet, because they haven't found a way to properly monetise it, they won't make it a permanent game mode.

I am absolutely furious about Nexus Blitz though. It was unquestionably the most fun I've ever had playing League. It was the PERFECT mode to calm down in between ranked games, or to just have some good fun. ARAM is okay, but the psuedo random element that can leave you playing as a completely useless champion, such as Udyr, for up to 40 minutes doesn't match the guarenteed 20 minutes of a champion you actually enjoy, with tasks that you don't find in any other game mode, but because the only money making idea they had for this game mode was the world's most useless passes, that required you to play 10 games + a day to get full value out of, they too are not making this game mode permanent. It just makes me so sad that Riot is clearly only in it at this point for the $$$ instead of making a fun and enjoyable game mode for the fans.

But then again I guess you can't spell 'League' without 'EA'.

I just dont understand why Riot does not do what Dota 2 does. Balance the main game and let the comunity create effectively mods of the different game modes...

Seriously, how is this not a thing?

Unless Riot wants to rule with an Iron fist... which let's be fair. It does.

ModRowanstar7/31/2019, 8:30:57 PM25 votes

Wow. I loved TT. Bad move Riot. You NEED to listen to the community. You may have a good reason for something, but not every good decision for you is good for your community.

Paronak7/31/2019, 7:33:49 PM18 votes

if they remove 3v3 they might aswell add ANOTHER 3v3 map because 5v5 is unbalanced, unfun and for "HYPE BEAST I WILL BE CHALLENGER" idiots. THERE ARE STILL CASUALS PLAYING THIS FU GAME!

yeulx7/31/2019, 8:20:06 PM12 votes

the only resources they put into it was their opinion of never doing anything to it, even tho the game mode could be popular again if they got their head out their ass. but no they dont want to do that, imo im done at the end of the season when they remove it.. riot can fucking burn

DeusVult7/31/2019, 9:00:41 PM8 votes

Also Riot: We have decided to make TFT permanent. As if you hadn't already made that decision before you even released it, what with all the talk about it on LCS/LEC streams, its own dedicated event, skins, a ranked queue while its still in Beta, etc.

Meanwhile other game modes that had plently of people excited about them and playing them get 0 resources

Riot are fucking dumbasses

Their thought process is insane. Imagine applying it to your own life.

Its like if I didn't clean my house for years, letting it become disgusting and uninhabitable, and then acting surprised when no one wanted to visit. And rather than clean my house, even though it wasn't the greatest, bulldoze it and buy an new one entirely.

LordGeovanni8/2/2019, 3:11:00 AM2 votes

im convinced it will take more resources to remove TT than they put into the last 5 years of TT

Icy Hot Shoto8/1/2019, 5:38:25 AM2 votes

I have to agree with the others who hope TFT dies. I hate the game mode. Riot is focusing way too much on it. TFT hit live, then the very next patch got ranked. Nexus Blitz didn't even get any CHANGES until they took it down and tried again, other than champions being disabled. Same with URF. They didn't fix anything while it was up, they only disabled champions.

Other modes basically got ignored the moment TFT was live. Oh, SR is full of bugs? Nah TFT.

We get it, Tencent owns like half of your company if not the entire thing. How about this? Use the ton of money you get from all these event passes and chroma bundles to buy your damn game back so you can finally start listening to ALL your players again and not just your Chinese owners.

GelsominoKiller8/1/2019, 11:28:44 AM2 votes

What's completely beyond the grasp of my understanding is...

how does removing a game mode which you neglected completely for many years help you focus on the game mode you focused on completely for many years?

They're acting as if they've been putting resources into 3v3's.

Yeah, that's the best part. They've neglected it so hard that I've been saying Riot doesn't even know Twisted Treeline exists. They didn't even give Qiyana ice enchantment on TT even though they addressed this issue for Howling Abyss in the last patch.

FearowSupremacy8/1/2019, 6:35:27 AM1 votes

In before a year or three from now when they remove ARAM because it's taking focus off of SR. The whole 'game mode removal' thing is an ugly precedent which they will more than likely use to remove everything they can't squeeze money from hosting live events on.

Also agreed that TFT needs to die despite all the hype Riot wants to build for it. It's a total gamble of a game and it's only enjoyable if it TRULY puts everyone on even grounds which they refuse to do because multiple people getting utterly bulldozed by people who get an item or two every single PvE round while they get next to nothing (sometimes ACTUALLY nothing!) is "fun and compelling gameplay".

TT is fucking shit to play man, the jungle camps are so unnatural/outdated and don't give sufficient xp that you just spam the 3 over and over again. And it's so easy to get spotted and killed in 1v3 in the middle part while your laners farm or are too weak with too little CS to get enough gold to be stronger.

BlackEyesBlue8/1/2019, 3:47:26 AM1 votes

Man... TT Hexakill was my favourite extra mode...

I'm not pleased Rito!

I think Riot is right I mean, they are talking about server maintenance, not about items or something, almost no one played this mode compared to TFT or normal mode, let's be honest

DougGod8/1/2019, 6:45:15 AM

Yea summoner's rift is a game mode and TFT is League of Legends
