WOW Nintendo actually made a pay to win Kirby game...

You know, I always thought Nintendo was the company that didn't do this sht. They make good quality games and for the most part avoid this microtransaction bullsht in their games. But no, this new Kirby game (I'm referring to Super Kirby Clash btw) on the Switch has something even worse. The game has this currency called gem apples. You need the apples for literally everything (weapons, armor, potions, fighting bosses, etc). You have a tree at level 2 that gives you 10 free apples every 12 hours, which is almost NOTHING when you consider how much everything costs in this game. Now, you can also pay real money to upgrade your tree to a higher level (and also get some gem apples), so it drops even more apples every time. This is where it gets stupid. You either pay up or you're forced to wait FOREVER until you finally have enough for what you need.

It's marketed as a "free to start" game. No one should be surprised it has microtransaction, probably lots of it, in it.

Just don't touch it, leave it to people who have too much free money to throw around like trash; I envy them but what can you do. Or maybe dive in after we have a more solid idea how it works and you can see for yourself whether you think it's fair enough for you to give it a shake.

Then again even excluding this game that you're gonna skip since they want to test water on other stuff or whatever, it's not the end of the world. Nintendo will release other games that you will be drooling over soon anyway, it's not like it's gonna go EA any time soon.

missions and achievements give you apples too. I believe coop gives you some too? Im sure ive got some from streetpass or something on the 3ds its really not so bad if you use the better characters and irrelevant if you play with others
