How can I unlock skins with orange essence?

I have been disenchanting skins and got 1500 or so orange essence... I want to buy a skin... But how do I buy it? I saw somewhere that skins cost around that much but any time I try I just get a blank screen saying not enough currency.

Orange essence is used to turn skin shards into permanent unlocks. It is not a substitute for RP.

The next skin you get in a box or whatever, don't disenchant it if it's a skin you want to own. Save it, and then "Unlock Permanently" through the Hextech crafting menu for that skin.
