I'm happy that I'm a new player...

I started playing mid-late season 6. I started playing competitively early season 7.

Everyone says season 7 is the "worst League's ever been", but I don't have anything to compare it to so I'm just blissfully ignorant, because this season, by default, has been my best and worst season. (Super excited for season 8 tho)

A lot of people bitching about S7 probably started playing in S6, just ignore it. Riot has made a metric shit ton of mistakes with balance and design over the years, many of which have carried forward to further warp design and balance of today's LoL, and I promise they didn't all magically converge on any one season.

Here's my advice you didn't ask for: Only keep playing the game for as long as you find it enjoyable, if it starts to feel like a grind you bail the hell out ASAP. Control your temper in game like a proper human being despite how terrible the community can be, and take plenty of short term breaks from the game, or you'll come to hate it sooner rather than later. Oh and if you don't like the idea of having to relearn half of the game and it's many match-ups every new season, or like the jungle role and look forward to Riot not making destructive, ass-backwards changes to it every pre-season just save yourself some time and find something else to play. Best of luck, friend.
