Weird to ask on here, but i always heard both of these were great companies (for obvious reasons) to work for. Even as just a customer service rep.

I can't imagine the job being extremely COMPLEX or mind-rackingly difficult.

I assume you go through some sort of standard "mandated" apple or samsung training. This is most likely related to what your job is, or they might have just a general training as well.

I'm assuming because these are big companies the pay for the BASIC positions is still... very high. At least 12 an hour.

A lot of you think that's low, but for possibly having no college and sitting behind a desk saying "restart your iphone dude" that seems pretty chill.

Plus discounts and shit i'd assume as well.

So, does anyone here work at either of these companies or have any advice for someone with no relevant experience or degree to get a job at one of these places?

I'm not sure where you live but here 12 an hour isn't that great. But that's relative so it doesn't really matter. And starting out you don't want to be concerned with big pay anyway, just aim to get some experience on your resume. Big companies like that tend to not pay well for starting positions just because it's so highly sought after so there's plenty of competition/your easily replacable. Also they usually hire temps that get highered on full time for starting positions, you can usually find out who the temp agency and request placement there though.

Yeah they usually do their own boot camp or training program you have to pass to get highered, but it's stupid stuff like don't yell at the consumer and how to explain things so people understand etc.

The difficulty just depends on the position, but most service reps have a detailed "script" or database they can use to look up answers. And training for common problems, that sort of thing.

Discounts depend on the company, a lot of times you get the shaft, but some companies have in company stores you can buy from at discount which is nice.

If your looking for a job, search the company or contracting company (a lot of major companies contract instead of hire full time for tech positions <- different than temping just fyi) anyway you can usually get a list of open positions and what they are looking for, then tailor your resume/learn some skills to fit. Never be afraid to just apply.

They probably won't even look at you if you don't have a 4year school or army service.

You need to prove that you have the capacity to learn and follow basic training.
