Tournmanet unplayable if sudden internet issues happen

Our adc suddenly and with no warning developed serial DCing. Not only did this completely ruin our games tonight as we lost a game we were winning and couldn't even compete in the consolation match due to 4v5, but since teams cannot be changed the entire tournament is now unplayable for us.

There needs to be a way to compensate for unforeseen issues. What if someone gets sick? What if there is a family emergency? Having these teams fixed for weeks on end with no way to deal with anything is an invitation to render the entire event worthless to a statistically significant population. We are not pros; locking the teams for the entire multiweek event was a bad decision to begin with and is going to screw portion of players for whom unforeseen events effect one or more teammates.

They should allow alts. This would help a lot with your situation as well as open the clash to more players that would like to participate but know that they can commit the full amount of required time.
