"Hey you, why didn't you cover for my shit map awareness and my lack of wards?"

SupaDevilJuice10/26/2017, 3:15:34 AM7 votes

If he was dead his opponent may have been at 50% or lower and he wouldn't have vision of him if there happen to be no wards where his opponent was going and the opponent simply could have gone back as well.

It's a rather valid statement.

I hate people who say this. Like.. you actually have even more reason to be pinging since you've got nothing else to do while dead after buying.

"An Ally Was Slain!"

That means his lane opponent is now MIA so watch the fuck out.

That's when I spend the next 5 or so minutes ? pinging my lane regardless if they're mia or not, and then mute them

So fuck team communication because you're upset that you died or what?

I watch other lanes even when I play my own lane. I ping dangers like ganks, MIA's for more than five seconds, and I predict paths. That allows me to effectively communicate with my team, and turn even a low-skilled team into a smarter one. You always have to be communicating information like that, even if the other lanes don't see it.

Mias are a great assistance tool but you should never rely on them.

While it's nice to help people with them, the game automatically does it for you. Press Tab. Any Champion that's MIA has a "?" next to their icon.

My general rule of thumb is to always look at my minimap or the tab menu at least once every ten seconds although I try to way more.

Map awareness is everyone's responsibility. I get pissed when people don't MIA ping me as well, because anytime my lane opponent goes off screen for more than two seconds I ping three or four times. It's just courtesy. There's a lot of things to watch in League, and between watching your warded top lane brush, CSing, keeping tabs on your own lane opponent (as well as your Jungler to make sure they're not being invaded), it's sometimes difficult to notice if the Thresh / Blitzcrank goes missing from bot lane until he's mid, hooking me.

In the end pinging MIA can be "greedy" for your lane as well. If your enemy laner isn't getting kills and losing CS because they tried (and failed) to gank another lane, that's some good shit for you.
