Explain how in a Gold 4 match, my team gets a trash bronze 1 adc while the enemy team is full gold with full mastery points, while my team only has one m7, that being me. The fact is they never look at reports and the forum. They don't care you guys. :)
The matchmaking system will match people based on mmr not mastery points or rank. Sometimes to make finding matches quicker they will put a higher elo/mmr player in compensation of a lower one. For example in a silver match there is a bronze but to make up for it there is a gold player on your team.
They want Quantity over Quality, they figure that people want to play MORE Games instead of having fair matches (since "It would take longer for the game to find a Balanced Match").

jungle against a full silver 1 team. Needless to say they fed tremendously and lost us the game.
yes "ELO system" is unfair garbage (in 5 vs 5 environment)

That's not even a bad match. If someone has a massive amount of mastery points and yet is still in gold, you shouldn't be afraid of them.

I can explain it : ranks or masteries are not even looked at by the matchmaking algorithm to match people together, it only uses the hidden mmr value. So refering to these values makes absolutely no sens.
another thing is that you pick your champions AFTER the matchmaking puts the players together, so yeah you might have a totaly unbalanced match if in one team they all picked their mains and in your team they all picked their new champion they are still training, but there's no way the matchmaking can guess which champion you are going to play.
So, I think you should consider to just quit because they have no plan to change the matchmaking, it's working as intended.
I'm high gold whether 2 of 1 and I'll occasionally get S1 teammate enemy or both which I find so ridiculous. I had that silver 1 Soraka who couldn't even heal anyone. It's like me a gold 1 player playing with high plat and players about to go to diamond which is ridiculous
At the point of the game happening Pyke was the only enemy in gold, the others all silver 1-3. Do you realize there is just 1 division between b1 and s3? The skill difference is minimalistic.

Matchmaking doesn't (and couldn't even) consider mastery. You are the one who picks the champion with the corresponding mastery, which happens after matching.
Is matchmaking perfect? No.
Is it working against you and the one and only reason you ever lose? No. You are trying to find reasons to blame your lost games on.

For the bronze player, he was a duo with the Nautilus. For the mastery, how is Riot supposed to know which champion a person will pick?
Mastery points aren't considered for matchmaking as there is no way for the system to know which champion you'll play at the time when teams are being set. The Bronze 1 player was duo queued with the Nautilus. Mystery solved.
my last diamond 2 game, we had one plat 1 in our team, a gold 1 on the other and a challenger for the past 3 season on the other team..... whatever i guess...
Yea make longer q times and get rid of autofill. Autofill has ruined games so much as well as every game I always have a lower rank player in my game. give me higher elo players so I can learn to climb and not stomp my opponent bc he’s 2 ranks below me. The matchmaking is ridiculous. It’s literally your team is full of monkeys let out from the zoo and enemy team is full of Koreans on Red Bull LSC 2 times kind of players. Seen so many people quit and I barely play it like I used to. Why come play something that’s been broken and RIOT doesn’t want to come fix the problems. They only think of what skin they can create that will sell and how can I promote LCS. If you look at stats in Season 5 there were close to one billion players playing daily. Now in 2019 the numbers is down to the millions. Riot doesn’t notice simple things like this as a business aspect they still do well but they put nothing into the game and just let it flow until something bigger and better comes around hopefully sooner than later.

I was in gold match and we had a platinum 4 mid playing EZ and went 0/7. Like WHAT THE F**K? When you have a higher win rate ,Riot will match you some "bad" players to force your win rate to 50%. I really don't get that how could a team of 5 player have 4 of them are bad and how could all the enemy players are so good? Like, we all in the same rank, gold 3 or gold 4 and they play like a Diamond and my teammates play like iron????? Earn my money and do your job.
