Like, when I come on gd, I'm lucky to find a single comment in an hour. At least on Reddit it's easy to find an active conversation to participate in. And all I ever find on GD are waifu threads anyways lol.
Reddit is a good site for sharing links
It's a terrible site for discussion unless you're on a moderately small reddit. It promotes circlejerks like crazy and first responders have a huge advantage when it comes to votes in the comments. At least the boards on GD even if they can be cancer you can talk 1-1 with people and sustain a conversation. It does have the same problem with vote circlejerks but the higher the popoulation the worse the problem with that kind of thing.

I tried using the League subreddit before but both of the threads I made got deleted by a moderator even though they were 100% League-related and followed all of the rules.

Because Reddit is still full of unsavory people due to the fact they cover virtually every topic. That's also why you find more active discussions.
Reddit discussion is shit because it's all groupthink and posters sucking the dick of the highest upvotes and posters only post memes so they can be at the top of the page, not unlike youtube comments. For discussion purposes it's absolute garbage.
