While i would like it to stay not for my self but for my friend whos business will go under with out it (dont ask me how) i feel as though its going to go any way despite our protests

now I don't have "proof" or links to these things but i have read a few things here an there facebook and other places that the FCC has been caught making fake comments on their site about net neutrality to make it look like the majority of people are in agreement with Net Neutrality being removed an that obviously not the case ontop of that i also feel as though despite all our protests there just going to go ahead slip a few bills here an there an have it removed any way while i dont like to think thats the case it feels that its what its going to come to

to sum it up really welcome to the age of the peoples opinion no longer mattering prepare your wallets

A lot of the bad crap probably won't be implemented until after the 2020 elections. There may be some fast-laning, but it probably won't much affect you. If the people who are against it remain in power by then, it will probably be dead for a good, long while, and some of the reaaaaally bad shit can start then. Charging for email access unless you use their crappy email service, use of only the search engines they have ad deals with, traffic shaping non-subscribers out of ther own subnets (this is extremely nefarious), access to only the news they want you to hear.

It's a pretty shitty outlook, and we need NN for a thriving internet.

local elections can have the biggest impact on the abilities of corporate friendly ideas like this to go unchecked, especially your local congressmen. people my age have the time to complain about horrible bills like this, but often dont bother voting in non national elections. This kind of BS is what we get for being so apathetic.
