What things can be used to put out grease fires (Science Discussion)

So far, I know that CO2 fire extinguishers work as well as baking soda, but what else could be used to put out a grease fire?

Would a solution of grease-dissolving detergent and water work? Water and oil don't mix, but with a strong detergent solution, maybe you can put out the fire by dissolving the oil. What about pouring soda on a grease fire?

Soda is basically water. It would not work at all.

(I think it might be worse than water, thanks to the sugar and carbonation, but am not sure on that.)

Smother it with a blanket.
