He deserved it.

He helped a website develop the hack, and helped promote it. He got banned nine times (at least). He basically gave a middle finger to Epic Games when they told him to stop.

Deserved.

Instead of taking out the website selling the cheats? Might as well put that money towards an engine that isn't compromised by basic fucking packet editing. How bad are these lawyers?

Tbh they were dumb for insisting it was somehow copyright infringement, as if no one would counter that. They're not reselling their product. and EULAs are useless in court.

It's not worse than when Blizzard tried to make a claim that they own your PC though.

mom was smart, but the idea of nailing a cheater no matter what age?

Yeah, I'd kick a defenseless kitten and try to ruin them. (not my thinking, but it feels like EPIC is going for the field goal here.)

Cheating does cause a loss of profit, though. It's just not easy to quantify..

People quit games when the playerbase is riddled with cheaters. Just makes it un-fun or w/e

Due to the legal system, Epic Games is being forced to drop the Lawsuit, since it's illegal to sue anyone under the age of 18. This is actually HUGE, because it means that Epic games can't actually stop the influx of cheaters.
