Mage mid lane 2018
Can someone tell me a mage mid laner for season 8? I'm thinking taliyah but I don't want to waste my BE especially now when they are harder to get.

I personally love Viktor. Orianna's Q-W combo is simple enough sand super cheesy as well as a game ending ult. Malzahar is always useful and super simple in all aspects of the game. Vel'koz has a huge skill ceiling, but if you can "master" him, he absolutely destroys.
It kinda depends on what you're looking for... Taliyah and Twisted Fate are roam oriented champions, focused on getting their teammates ahead rather than themselves. Orianna and Vel'koz are great teamfight champions, their ult can deal potentially huge damage to the entire enemy team. Annie and Veigar are burst champions where you unload your whole kit at once trying to kill squishy champions. Finally, Lux, Xerath, and Ziggs are waveclear and artillery mages, great for poking people down from long distances.
Think about what suits your playstyle most, and go from there. If you really aren't sure at all I'd recommend Lux. She has good damage, range, and a shield to help you and your team stay safe. She can help you learn the basics.

A) never banned. B) always one of the top win rates for mid. C) people throw mad respect at good Sols. D) Plays similar to Tali (shove and roam)
Annie :3 or Malzy :P But Malzy might get gutted :P
Tali is tons of fun. Tricky to get used to and can be difficult to land her combo. But you get to surf on rocks everywhere and that's hella fun. Has nice synergy with celerity, but no keystones really fit her (lately I've resorted to kleptomancy and I hate myself for it).
Vlad is strong right now and can 1v1 most matchups early, and w away from many ults (looking at 
). You can take demolish with him and almost garuntee you get first tower.
Play Lux, she's SO hot
As a midlaner, Morgana is the safest champion for me, but zoe, taliyah and malzahar are all great picks too. Malzahar is the easiest champion to play and farm after lv 6.
I occasionally play lux it's also a very fun champion to play and easy to master.
You could also pick veigar or syndra if you want a powerful ultimate that wrecks half of your enemy hp in 1 shot.
EDIT: I've seen many play xerath lately too, he's one of the most annoying champions to lane against.
Taliyah is really fun, but pretty difficult to play right. IMO she's one of the harder mages but hey you might like that. I'd recommend her.
Well Orianna has not once fallen below top tier so you can't go wrong with her.
