PSA: Stop Banning Out Your Own Team
Have faith in your teammates, whether they pick something that's not meta or you disagree with their pick, or if you have bad experiences with people picking whatever they've picked in the past, just stop. It's not mature, it's not fair, it ruins the environment of the game for others, and it will end up causing more problems than if you just let them pick what they want to pick.
Learning to trust your team is a large and crucial part of climbing the ladder. If you can't trust your team, you're not only preventing the team from capitalizing on aspects they, themselves, know they are capable of, but you're also inhibiting your growth as a player. The game is 5v5, not 1v5. You don't have to fight the game alone. There are a lot of burdens that you can take off of your shoulders by trusting your team.
You'll also end up tilting the player by banning their champion. It's called betrayal. They come into queue and hover their pick because they trust that, when banning phase comes, you won't ban what they're hovering. That's what the feature was implemented for. They trust you, and by banning their pick you shatter that trust in an instant. Now they're upset because they feel betrayed and because they were excited to play that pick, they're going to go into game and perform worse because their mood has been spoiled, and they're either going to be extremely salty towards you in-game or they aren't going to be able to capitalize on the aspects of the game you know you're capable of because they no longer trust you.
Just trust your team. Let them pick their champions. Don't be rude. Teamwork op.
