Will VELKOZ be played in the LCS ever?

I literally do not see the champion played much at all. I see nunu played more than velkoz is. What is up with that and will he ever really be played what changes would actually make him viable?

he was played in LCS
he has seen some play. I remember there was a game where faker used him.
But the issue with him is he's in a lucian vs graves scenario. Except it's syndra vs vel'koz. They bring the exact same strengths to their teams and fill identical niches. But because one of them is slightly more reliable/safer everyone picks the other one.
