Any news regarding the honor wards?

Many people were upset (including me) that you are stuck with the ward color matching your honor level and that higher honored players couldn't pic the color of their choice (for example an honor level 5 player who would prefer the blue ward over the gold one).

Last time i read that riot were going to look into this. Any news regarding the issue or are we just gonna get stuck with what we'll get?
