What am I doing wrong?

Hey, I'm Cileca and I've been an Evelynn main since season 8. So far the highest I've climbed this season is Silver 2, I know it's not very impressive, but I plan on going much higher. However, I've recently been having a lot of trouble in games, and I don't know if it's my fault or if I'm just REALLY unlucky. The game after I won my Silver 2 promos, I was super pumped since I had been winning a lot of games with my duo friend. But before I could get any lp in Silver 2, I lost five games in a row and was demoted back to Silver 3. I was pretty crushed. And I only did badly in one of those games; in the rest, my teammates always would go something like 0/4 in the first ten minutes and feed the enemy team. But it didn't stop there. I lost another four games and now I'm almost at risk of getting demoted out of Silver 3 as well. Every single one of these games, I've played decently (I think), but one or two of my laners will just feed like he's trying to solve world hunger, or my team will get baron and then lose a 3v5, or the one guy who's fed will try to go in by himself and throw the game. Take a look at my op.gg to see for yourself. So now I'm wondering: statistically, the chances of losing nine games in a row is like 0.19%. So it isn't just shitty luck. But I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Am I playing the wrong champion? Are my objective and map control bad? Am I just bad? Then what do I do to improve? I would really, really love any constructive feedback. Because I don't really want to play anymore if every game is just 1/10 Nasuses or 3/17 Neekos.

Thanks in advance. Evelynn

Honestly I dont care if people are gonna roast me for saying this but low elo games are actually hard. Ive peaked high Plat, very close to Diamond on several accounts, its not a big achievement but its way above the average League player and I can tell you low elo games are actually hard, sometimes even harder than Plat games.

People tilt a lot, dont know how to play under pressure or from behind, dont listen to calls, dont see obvious rotations or proactive plays coming, dont communicate properly, etc, etc. And even if you are a skilled player, there will be unwinnable games in lower elo regardless of your score. Also keep in mind that if you are doing well in a series of games and your MMR starts going up, you will get matched with people that are having bad streaks or people that are above you to balance out the teams and that could be a factor as well.

My best advice if you want to get out of at least Silver and Gold is to play champs that allow you to carry easily and are very difficult to go wrong with. If youre jungle I would suggest champs like Xin Zhao, Jarvan, Rek Sai, Nocturne. Those champs are very strong in early skirmishes and crab fights and also have pretty strong ganks.

Keep in mind that if you pick champs like Evelynn, Zac, Jax, Kindred or whatever that needs some levels or a little bit of scaling in low elo, your team wont understand that you are not as effective as the enemy jungler at certain stages of the game and that they should play accordingly. Thats why you should play independent champs that can do a lot on their own and can get easy leads.

How Do You Meta3/10/2019, 5:53:05 AM1 votes
  1. Sometimes you will get unwinnable games, and sometimes those come in waves.
  2. When those happen, I recommend taking a break from League of Legends and do something refreshing like watch funny clips on youtube or stretch your legs. Playing while your tilted will make you play worse whether you like it or not.
  3. Keep playing more games and focus on what you did wrong in each game and what you did right. Ignore what mistakes or terrible kdas your team has because you are here to climb by yourself, not with 4 other strangers (or 3 if you duo).
  4. Learn how to take low risk high reward plays like smiting baron to steal it when your ult is up and avoid high risk low reward like flashing burning your smite and dying under enemy tower to attempt killing a support at 1/4 hp left.
  5. Mute your entire team if they start flaming each other and don't expect much for that game. If you say nothing, you are not contributing to the flaming and that could help fizzle out their rage or at the very least shield you from getting tilted from them or getting banned for responding to them.
  6. Ward in the right spots that give the best vision, this takes practice and sometimes it pays to buy control wards.

Hope it helps!
