I just don’t understand why people intentionally post stuff to spoil movies for people

Honestly, it’s so dumb. I’m not going to have time to see the movie until NEXT weekend because of exams. I don’t get why people intentionally post dead give-away memes, etc. It’s one thing to make a post that clearly warns of spoilers and encourages people not to view the thread/post, that’s fine. But I’ve already seen about 4 things and because of it, I’ve practically got an idea of the entire plot. I seriously deleted people on FB over this, and one of them is a close friend! There are many ways you can be a dick and have it be funny, this isn’t one of them.

Because they are assholes, the only way they get their personal enjoyment is by ruining others, ie, they are pieces of shit.

I have mixed feelings about spoilers. Maybe it's just my experience, but the stuff that had been spoiled for me so far are the things I sort of expected to happen. Frankly, I'm still glad nobody spoiled, say, who dies in Endgame (yet), because I know something of that caliber would be tremendously impactful.

TBH I don't mind spoilers since if the details aren't too explicit it can grab my excitement. Like something like "(X) dies!" leaves room for the imagination to wander and you still need to see the moment it happens and how its presented to appreciate it. They can't take that first viewing experience away just because the surprise factor isn't there. I get people like that, but if media is well designed/written it can often still give you the surprise factor the moment it happens.

That said if it gets into too much detail, like as you described practically hearing the entire plot, that's just shit tier. You don't need to hear the entire script of a movie before watching it. That poisons the well considerably and boils it into spectacle. Having a tease of information though has never ruined important moments for me though.

I stay away from social media during the times big movies come out. I understand its some peoples form of entertainment by scrollin memes. But i just cant let someone ruin an ending for me.

Thanos dies!

(This is a joke, I have not seen the movie or any of them since Avengers 2 except Ragnarok and Guardians 2. But he probably does.)
