what is the point of the exit button?

serious question. it is right there next to surrender so people should see it but i doubt anyone even uses it. they'd rather cry and surrender spam to get out of a game. and when surrender fails they cry even more because they are "held hostage". little do they know, they can leave the game if they use the Exit button. but they ignore it. so why is it even there if no one even uses it?

The exit button is so you can relog (which can be important at times to resolve visual glitches or lag problems), and to allow you to end custom games early.

One reason is that people do not want to get punished. You may think the button has no function, but It does. Real life emergencies can happen at any time, like It or not and you have to leave no matter the game progress. By those "held hostage" situations the people that left the game is more likely to get punished that the person creating this situation. I do use the button myself, since for some unknown reason I get stuck on "trying to reconnect" screen at 55ms (my all time ping) and It wont reconnect me, the only way to resolve this is by exiting and reconnecting.
