Post contains only a minor spoiler, comments contain actual spoilers.

What a huge disappointment. They took creative liberties in all the wrong places and fucked up the plot and character progression in so many ways.

  • Ogden Morrow was nearly written out with how little he was involved
  • The confrontation between Wade and Sorrento was shit compared to the book
  • AND they completely rewrote almost every challenge

I could go on and on the list is probably 50 points long, but that would involve spoilers.

Do yourself a favor and listen to the audiobook instead. It's got way better plot, characters, and attention to detail.

Coming from the perspective of never reading the book (I didn't know there even was one until after watching the movie)... I liked it. It wasn't a super fantastic movie, but it was fun to watch, and I enjoyed all the nods and references to nerd culture. :P

looks like "80s-90s reference: the movie"

Yeah, I got dragged into it by some friends. I was astonished by the amount of flaws.

I'm not even usually very critical of movies at all, but they were just so glaring.

The movie did have one highlight.

CGI Gundam.

That concludes the lists of the movie's high points.

It's going on my "I'll watch it when I don't have to pay for it" list. And that's pretty much only for the RX-78.

I haven't watch it but all I've heard is that it was a bad movie.
