This game's ideology is very contradicting
They tell you: "its a team game, work within your team" Then they tell you: "You cant rely on others, you gotta carry"
So which one is it? work with your team, or quit relying on them?

The dev's tell you its a team game, Because they try to balance it where if one teammate falls, The whole group fails
But the Players tell you its a carry game, Because they want you to pull your weight and more so you're not that one teammate that falls behind.
"We're looking into snowballing and pacing." "We've made towers utterly useless as defenders so you will die to the diver while being unable to do anything. Oh, and after they've killed you they'll take tower and then 2 other objectives because games should be decided before 15 minutes."
When your team fails or goes even, carry the game. When your team succeeds, work with them.

In solo queue, its a team game, so youll never be able to 1v9. Its just not going to happen, if the enemy team plays better as a whole, its unlikely youll be able to play better than them solo and pull out a win.
However, since you dont know all of the players in the game or how theyll play, picking a strong team centric synergy can be a major miss if everyone wants to play it differently or doesnt know how to play it well. Protect the kog maw doesnt work if kog runs it down mid, and now if you all picked kog centric champs, you arent likely to win.
So, you need to be able to pick something youll be able to do well with if everyone else plays subpar, while still being able to build your team up and press your advantages and cover your weaknesses where they arise.
