This Season's Changes To Matchmaking Haven't Accomplished Their Purpose

Forcing new accounts to start at the lowest Tier was a good start, but adding the LP Boost for placements has really defeated the purpose behind making players start at a low rank. At Silver 2 to Gold 4 area, almost every single game that I play has an unranked or freshly ranked Silver MMR player who often shouldn't be ranked that high. Fresh accounts with 30% to 45% win rates are still getting placed into Silver, which makes absolutely no sense considering the implementation of another tier below Bronze. The unranked player almost always is the game deciding factor. For example, in my last match we had an Annie player who more than likely should have been in Iron. They had terrifying CS (around 40 CS at 15 minutes into the match), not very high map awareness (leading to them being camped all game), and even with myself camping their lane saving them from dying everytime the enemy Jungle came, it wasn't enough because they were just way too far behind the enemy mid lane Viktor who was up over 100 CS on our mid (meaning I would end up dying instead of them most of the time).

This has been a huge problem for a long time, and I was excited to see that something was behind done about it this year... Now that the changes have been around for a while now, it's evident that they are simply not working. I hope some further adjustments get made to help with this issue. Unranked accounts are the most unbalanced and irritating part of League of Legends -- you either get a smurf who stomps everyone, or you get a lower player at a tier they don't belong at who gets trashed by other players. It's not fair to play against them, nor is it fair to have them on your team.

Either the LP boost on fresh accounts needs to go, or placements simply need flat out removed completely from fresh accounts. I'm not sure why Fresh accounts get a huge boost that other accounts do not get to begin with. Fresh accounts should need to earn their place in League, and not be handed a free trip to Silver or Gold just because they were lucky and got carried on a few matches.
