I am silver 2 trash. Why in the heck am I always against high golds, plats, and sometimes diamond?

This is honestly ridiculous, what have I done to be placed in a game with players that are obviously light years better than I am. I'm not even good at the game, I have pretty below average mechanics, poor decision making, and terrible macro. And I still play with and against high golds, plats, and sometimes even diamonds. I mean, just recently I was in a game against a diamond 3 zed one trick with 2.5 million mastery points just destroying everyone because my garbage ass fed him. I mean c'mon this is just normal games, why can't I have fun in normal games with one of my friends when they lose lane and rage because of my stupid mmr. I checked my ranked mmr today using some site and it clearly says and I quote "SILVER II." I haven't even played one single game with someone that is gold+. I don't want to have to resort to ranked because there only so much cancer that I can endure when playing this AMAZING WELL DEVELOPED game. Riot you need to fix matchmaking in normal games and make it where each player plays against their own elo. I don't even care if queue times are more than 5+ mins, Just please do something ANYTHING to fix matchmaking because this is really starting to piss me off. If this is riot's way of telling me to get good, then they're doing a terrible job.

I'm in the same boat with normals, currently silver 2, playing against gold 1, and higher, sure gold isn't great, but in the ranking perspective, it's still considered higher and better play style then those of silver, so I agree, MMR needs to be properly adjusted, to match those of the same skill level, even if the player has over 50K games played since season 2, (yeah I know I played a lot, but with age comes slower reflexes, followed with injuries), MMR still needs to be adjusted for norms as it is for ranked. Ezpz.

In norms? Because ranked has legitimately nothing to do with normal MMR.

why you don't like ranked? not implying riot shouldn't fix normal games matchmaking, just wondering

Riots utter refusal to fix norms so its a valid form of entertainment has been one of the most curious oversights for years.

Not even exaggerating, I was getting ranges from silver to challenger in the same game when I first finished leveling this account. The account probably fell into that "smurf detection" category, but come the fuck on. Wasn't even that rare to have games like that either, I had multiple grandmasters and challengers mixed into games that were mostly new accounts and silvers. Always on the enemy team to.

Beat a few of em though.

Probably because the low elo for-fun casuals are quitting, only the competitive people that are too invested in the game to drop it still play it, and there's rather few new players, since everyone and their mother already know what League is, there's no one left to whom it would be a newfound thing.

Well, I am diamond 4,2 on 2 acc also in flex and when I play normals on both acc I always play with mixed up teams... Sometimes another one or two diamonds get to be with me in the team but mostly plat/gold even one silver gets to be with me in the team, but the same is on the other side in the enemy team, there is always someone who's diamond-like me. I noticed that If I go on weekends in the late afternoon I get to be almost full team diamonds against diamonds. (you can look my match history from normals you get to see those mixed up divisions) And to be honest I am not pissed If somebody feeds in normals, they are only normals and I get the fact that there are guys with me from the lower division at least I am trying to help them, encourage them, or tell them what went wrong.

.. reminds me of one game where our gold jungler admitted that there is a jng difference and that he could do better, he was 3/11/5 and was grateful for pointing up what went wrong, others were not even angry, such nice friendly loss :D

.. so I guess it is bcs there are not enough players from these elo's.. cause mostly they are playing ranked and master+ would play only ranked (there are times when you get them too but it's occasional, mostly they are playing ranked or flex ranked), cause why play something else if he would drop by not playing soloq for a quiet time.

.. you don't have so much time for games so you are trying to stack up those wins in soloq games by any time you have otherwise it would be a waste.. I mean If you are working, studying, living you have time for a few games and those few games should be ranked in master+ otherwise they would decay. However diamond decay after 28 days so you get to make more fun in normals, chill out, rest in your division.. but there are not so many ppl and as I said mostly you find them in ranked/flex trying to hit master or smurfing on other acc so there is even smaller % of players who are playing normals at that moment.. (take also in consideration the fact that you don't want to wait 10 minutes + on a normal game just to be in full diamond team against full..it's enough that I wait this much for a soloq game lol)

But maybe I am wrong, I am just talking from my own experience and my friends from D+ are experiencing the same thing so I guess it's the same with others.

Anyway, take it as a learning opportunity by playing with or against higher elo players. Try to take much as you can from them. And don't mind it so much if you lose unless you are inting or afking .. it's only a normal game and you don't have to be a god in here.

I don't mind that actually, playing against better players than you is the only way you can actually improve and learn but the biggest issue here about that is the fact that normal games are losing their purpose and that's picking a new champ and trying him out and learning how to play him before going into ranked without you getting flamed at, insulted, being called bad and actually not even dare to try out something new, that's why people play new champs in ranked because they get matched in their lower elo but still do badly because they had no chance to learn the new champ and it hurts us all, there is absolutely no difference between normal and ranked games it's just all tryhards playing their mains, dominating players that are trying to test something new and making them give up on it, that's why so many people stick only to 1 single role which is also fine it's their favorite position to play, but it's also because they are afraid to try out anything new because they know it's gonna end badly and their team is gonna flame them, that's probably why there are so many smurfs ruining fun for new players, they go play with worse players than them so they can pick a champ they never played and still be one of the best in their teams, but ofcourse what matters the most is the champions they are the only ones in need of fixing the rest of the game is f**ing bliss.

Its your mmr. If you have stupidly high mmr, how are you still silver or tge ranked system is broken like s7 where you would have diamonds in bronze.

Stuff like this you wouldn't know about if you didn't look up people's ranks in the middle of loading into a match.

Whether or not you knew shouldn't affect the outcome of the game, as long as you played your best. Which I believe is something every player should come to realize that it's never about the opponent but about you.

Besides what's life without throwing you a few curve balls?

This game was actually winnable if this Master Yi didn't throw a bitch fit and run it down mid because he doesn't know what lane priority means btw.

Well tbh playing norms doesn't care about mmr, people your skill level, or even people around your rank. You just need to deal with it and play to the best of your ability and get better (in my opinion playing norms doesn't make you better ranked does), having fun doesnt mean winning constantly or having a good kda. If you cared about that you would be playing ranked where there are the people around your skill level so you shouldn't complain, and if you dont play ranked because of the teammates, you need to understand you're there for a reason and if you don't want to be then do something about it cuz that's the same type of people on the enemy team and they can be affected the same way, just mute them and their pings if it really bothers you that much. You're never going to get even skill level unless you play ranked and you won't know what you're actual skill level is if all you do is play norms, sorry but im sick of people complaining all the time about this type of stuff, you need to expect to lose ranked games and not blame the people around you all the time, just think about what you coulda done to improve your macro/micro.

I quit playing on live servers for the most part because of this exact reason. Last season I was high silver and started getting placed into MUCH higher mmr games (High diamonds, even the occasional masters + player)

Their matchmaking is surely broken, and probably rigged. Everyone can see how many one-sided games happen all the time, both winning and losing. And they are doing absolutely nothing about it, so... it's intentional.

Plus, their playerbase keeps dropping, so they need to match even more differently skilled people together; they could try to balance it a bit, but as I've explained many times, is far more easy to make one team better and the other worse, "rotating" every player in the next games as much as possible.

Finally, people saying "mmr is not the same for normal and ranked games" aren't seeing the point: that "rule" is incredibly stupid, and makes the game even worse. A Diamond player doesn't lose his skills in normals, and a Bronze one doesn't become Faker either there.

Because you're in Normals.. where your Ranked stats and everyone else's Ranked stats don't matter.

Even if you're where you should be in the Normal queue's mmr, those other guys might not be.

Easiest way to play with and against similar players would still be playing Ranked imo..

And how you suggest to fix it ? Normals have its own MMR and it makes sense. I am Gold 2-1 and I play normals mostly with iron-silver, because I troll in normals a lot. Hence here is my MMR. If you are playing in normals on Gold+ don't be surprised to get related ranks. Like why in the fuck if I want to play on bronze level, I have to keep playing against gold-plat ? If you want to play with low ranks, simply lose bunch of games and MMR will drop you down. It is not ranked, you have no lp to lose. Vice versa for you, if you play on Gold+ level why the fuck system has to keep you in your ranked MMR ? It simply doesn't make sense.
