r/leagueoflegends - This whole Uzi incident shows exactly how incompetent Riot KR is - Not because of Uzi is being punished, but this whole thing was allowed to developed to such state.

By posting this discussion, I am not claiming that Uzi as well as other players did nothing wrong. I am not debating on whether they should be punished for their negative behaviors.

I just want the audience to know some of the facts that have not been mentioned behind the recent events. I also hope I can raise people's awareness of e-sporting fairness through this discussion, since no one want 2002 World Cup - the disgrace of sport happens again in e-sports.

As the S8 starts up in Korea, a heated discussion about Uzi's "unfair" treatment in Korea has began across the internet.

We all know that before the World Championship, teams from different regions will come to the host country to do the pregame training. RNG from LPL is no exception. When the players hope that they can have good matches for training, in the beginning of a match, Uzi was recognized by Korean players, they start to abuse Uzi by calling Uzi "Good Pig“, and int Uzi's games. When Uzi asked for a bot gank, the Korean players typed "shut up pig". After that, most shamelessly, the south Koreans used a title to ask "ban" Uzi, report & blame Uzi's poor records with int in the game.

What's outrageous is that there's also a Korean streamer who publicly insults Uzi, then he called on his audience to attack him too.

For example, here is a jng who typed "RNG lose, Geng.g win" and started to feed in the bot lane. http://5b0988e595225.cdn.sohucs.com/images/20181009/bcbdacc70bf64a4495bc07d4358854be.jpeg

What Lee typed at the beginning of the game: http://5b0988e595225.cdn.sohucs.com/images/20181009/27893d186a9a47e893d257ff2328af60.jpeg

Here are some discussions from twitter: https://twitter.com/aphromoo/status/1046966586488365056?s=20 https://twitter.com/RustyLoL/status/1049155844711956480

On October 7th, Uzi along with many pro players now are training in Korea was warned and fined, include:

Daniele "Jiizuke" Di Mauro(VIT) Amadeu "Attila" Carvalho(VIT) Minkook "Dreams" Han(VIT) Luka "Perkz" Perkovic(G2) Petter "Hjarnan" Freyschuss(G2) Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen(C9) Stanislav "Lodik" Kornelyuk(GMB) “Ning”高振宁(IG) “Rookie”宋义进(IG) “4LivcloveR” 李哲(EDG) Jaeha "Mowgly" Lee(AFR) Hyesung "Comet" Lim(AFR)

**At the mean time, no players from LCK region has been reported or banned. As well as that streamer. **

Korean server was exposed by cowsep and ultimately he was the one that got punished for it. Riot Korea knows about the toxicity there towards foreigners but they don't care

After the PAX debacle do you really think they care about fairness?

Streamers can get away with so much more because they give Riot exposure. I severely doubt anything will happen to them.

Ironic given NA's behavior towards chinese, korean, and latin players who come over to our servers. The reality is if a gamer feels they can get away with it, they'll take whatever frustration they have in life out on others ingame in whatever way they can.

Right now you're talking about a server located in a country where the suicide rate for students are on the rise. Not only that, their government had to enact a law to limit maximum hrs of work each week to 52hrs down from 68hrs and you can't even say if 68hrs in a 6 day work week was actually how much they really worked or if they worked more off the books (not including travel time). Then there's the rise of sexual harassment from foreigners in South Korea. Throw all this on top of the fact that Korean gamers know we in NA are just as racist if not more so in many ways.

Its a good thing to talk about racism cause it does exist and we as the next generation need to be better ourselves. A good way to tackle racism would be in forum subsection General Discussion. As an Asian American, everytime I make a thread about anime? Downvoted. Why? Racism! We can change that buy instead upvoting all my anime threads. All of them. Even the crazy ones.
