I Feel like Urf is becoming less and less what we want it to become
So I was around when Urf first came out, I remember being like "why am I throwing nidalee spears every 2 seconds?" but I quickly latched onto the gamemode and was hooked. I felt like choose your champion URF was the most fun gamemode ever. And eventually it turned into ARURF. Now I was fine with this, I could see where riot was coming from because of shit like Zed, Old evelynn, Shaco, Vi, and a bunch more. However back in regular URF there were perma banned champions like kassadin and karthus. Now in ARURF there are no perma banned champions. I feel like very game is a coin flip to see which team wins the game. Now I know people like that and enjoy ARFURF because of balance reasons.
So I adapted to ARURF and had a fair amount of fun with it so long as I didnt have to go against something like Zed or Kassadin. But then last years, they came out with snowdown URF. This gamemode gave me some salt, because the only available champions for the gamemode were all the champions with snowdown skins. Urf wasn't around for quite awhile and I really wanted to see what the new champions like Ornn at the time, who was the newest champion, I wanted to see him in ARURF because I thought it'd be interesting. But they limited the champions. And nobody asked for this whatsoever.
Then they came out with nexus blitz and I felt so refreshed. You could actually pick your champion in an urf deathmatch, and that's why I play a lot more NB than ARAM now. But now they just released a new URF gamemode, at first it was rumored that this would be regular URF with a twist. But its not, this is ARURF with new stupid stuff that was putting unnecessary fat onto the URF gamemode. For instance if you haven't heard about it yet, there's a cannon that shoots you into lane, cool idea because now we don't have to take TP, but why though? We didnt ask for this, we didnt want this, We sure as hell didnt NEED this. They also added in a mega dragon that essentially gives you all the buffs that regular dragons do. First of all, the best part about URF is killing people, in a gamemode centered around fun and being stupid and silly, nobody wants to take objectives, we wanna have fun not go out of our way to take a dragon because we have to try hard to win the game. It's just extra layers of rules and things that don't even need to be there.
Its taking away from what OG URF used to be like and I'm really sad that Riot simply won't release old URF to either gives those long time veterans a feel for it and true joy, and introducing new members of this game to what URF used to be, now I know that riots excuse was that people only come back to League for that game, and while I understand that, why is that such a big deal? You guys barely put it up, maybe once or twice a year, is it so bad to have that happen only once or twice a year? I really hope riot can just LISTEN TO US SOMETIMES and at least and make an attempt at compromise, ARURF is fine but ask almost anyone, they prefer old URF because it was a lot more fun and that fun and wanting to play more, actually made me want to win. No taking dragons, no not using TP because you don't have to. Just let us try out champions. The last time you released Old urf was years ago(2014 I think) and since then there have been maybe 20-30 new champions out. I really want to test out Pyke, And Zoe, and all the new stuff Riot has incorporated since last regular URF. I hope one day, maybe for the 10 year anniversary of the game, they can truly make us happy players and release something crazy. My thought has always been "well what if we have All for one Urf?" Its a crazy idea and will probably crash the servers. But hey riots done crazy shit like this before.
