Problem for smurfing?

Hello, i am here to suggest some solutions to smurfing. I am currently hardstuck gold, and i am here to learn the game and get better at it. I know that's how you should approach this game. But i can honestly say the last 20 matches in a row there was always 1 or 2 smurfs in it. sometimes the whole enemy team was smurfing. when i play against someone my rank i usually do pretty well, but when i am up against a smurf i still try but it seems like an very uphill battle and is honestly pretty demotivating. so much so that i even consider giving up on this game. i love almost everything about this game, but players learning together to get better is not possible but when a diamond/challenger with superior knowledge is just stomping a game on his own whilst not even trying seems not how it should be. sometimes the other lanes lose vs one and in turn get scolded for losing. it's unfair and in my opinion very unhealthy for the game. you don't use a rank system were you can't team up with someone with 2 tiers difference only for games to be infested with smurfs. i can imagine alot of new players quitting the game whilst i think everyone can agree we want more players. you can come up with whatever git gud comments you want, but your mindset is not applicable to new players.

My solution was to come up with a prestige system. everyone diamond and up should have the option to climb in a different ladder maybe also going up to challenger. (iron prestige--->challenger prestige) or whatever you want to call it. the people who want to learn new champs can do so with other diamonds, making it possible for them to learn new roles or champs whilst not ruining low elo games. and not ruining their lp. the people who want to flash their E-willy's can climb to challenger again with the creme de la creme of the league players making it possible for them to boast about it. the people who just want to fuck around can probably do so with the others in iron prestige and not harming any others. the people who really want to climb already have the mindset to do so again. i get that the playerbase of diamond and up is alot smaller but put servers in for cross regions or something. (maybe half the servers you would use for EU region for EU west and east. i have no knowledge about this, so i think i would leave this to someone who does.)

i think the people who genuinly just want to learn new stuff have a place there and will probably be happy with it and for the people who like to ruin games, at least the whole community knows they have small pee pee's.

for me this seems a pretty good solution, but all idea's are welcome and i hope more people can agree to this or give other suggestions.

What is your methodology for determining and confirming the existence of alts in your games?

The main reasons we deal so many 'smurfs'...

  1. free game
  2. player accounts get banned(they should just introduce perma mute for the toxics), resulting in them having to make a new account and 'SmUrF'
  3. the ranked system has been kinda nonsense for years so players create new accounts for a fresh start just based on that
  4. farming accounts of course
  5. some people try to have too much fun and ruin their ranked matches, ending up a hardstuck 'smurf' like me, can't even begin to count how many times I've been called a cheater/scripter/smurf just because I've been in silver for too long its obvious I should be higher rank than silver but I throw matches too easily just being dumb trying to have fun

None of these issues are fixable, not for Rito at least.

Obviously this would be absurd but I think the most solid solution would be to make ranked a paid game mode so that people take it more seriously and can't just make a smurf and jump right into smurfing

most of them will admit when called out on, but also most of them are around lvl29 - 35 when in the aftermath. I don't say I am right all the time, but most of the times they admitted themselves.

I don’t fully agree with your concept but it’s close to being right. Something definitely needs to be done to ward off smurfs.

So...it's basically another set of ranking system. Where they're against the same people.

So...it does nothing, because you haven't fixed the actual reason they're smurfing.
