So this is how RIOT Customer Support has come? To the toxic level of players?

So. First I'll come clean. I don't play much anymore, I typically log in once every few weeks just to mix something up I had purchased a level 30 account after selling my old account when I quit, and S1/S2/S3 Plat/Diamond/Diamond accounts were fetching a pretty good penny (Because who wants to level to 30). About two weeks ago I received an email about my account being suspended. Honestly, didn't really care.

Well I was bored tonight, thinking I'd log in and play a match. Oh right, banned. Hmm I wonder why anyways. Well apparently RIOT thought the account was hacked. Well, no. We moved to a rural area that doesn't have high speed internet. So I use PDAnet (if your not familiar, it basically mirrors your phone's data to bypass hotspot restrictions, it's pretty neat you should check it out). I get about 60 down, 10 up on my phone, 80ms ping. More than good enough for games.

Problem is, IP was jumping around. So they thought the account was hacked. But Mr. Phatmage here made sure to make fun of me about it. I don't care about getting the account back. I'll come clean. But this is what's representing RIOT. I'll BOLD the real gems. What a professional this guy is!

You are getting all worked up over this? It IS their policy. It was your responsibility to read up on their policy before you go spending money on an account you didn't create. I think this Phatmage guy handled this very well.

Regardless of whether or not you got hacked it doesn't matter. Once you told him that the account wasn't originally yours, he had no other choice.

You made a mistake. That's all.

Him laughing at how dense you were being isn't unprofessional. To be quite honest, you got off topic - once you did that, it was just another conversation, and he's a normal person too.

Terms of Service explicitly states that an account you created is not to be used by anyone else.

That was why he needed the original creator. He was even looking flexible about letting you keep the account if you could get the original creator to call in and say "yeah, I want the ban lifted".

If you're going to rail on him for doing his job, which he was doing more than properly, then I suggest you go and work in Customer Service. It will probably give you some empathy for the job type.

Nope, you are right. I agree. I'm not that upset about the account. I don't.. Won't miss league, and if I do. Another level 30 account is cheap.

Still don't think support should be talking to someone like that though, but then again. I do customer service every day. Maybe I just know how the job should be portrayed. If one of my employees laughed at someone, and acted that way... Yeah, they won't be there long.

He's a normal person, being paid. Correct. He assumed it was hacked. When it wasn't. He took his role, and felt he had all the power in the world. I'm sure I'm not the first, nor the last that will be treated poorly by him.

So you are trying to incite a witch hunt because, after clearly explaining policy and why they have to follow it multiple times you continued to ignore him and he said, once, "lol".

Likewise, you are doing it while in the this thread admitting to selling your old account and buying a new one, both things very clearly against the ToS.

Wow, i work on an IT Help Desk and god damn that Rioter was very unprofessional in his responses. I would have been pissed too buddy, sorry that happened to you.

Weather you were right or wrong, that is no excuse for him to laugh at your incident, and speak to you in that manner. He clearly does not value his job.
