Achieved an S- with Rek'Sai during URF, opened it and expected some good old champion shards. BUT WHAT IS THAT?! Was pretty suprised when a legendary skin came out. So it IS possible to get good skins out of these chests, the chance seems just minimal.

For some reason Im just super lucky with chests. Ive gotten dawn bringer riven, dunk master darius, mocha zero sion, and multiple other legendary skins. I now never reroll my shard because I know there are always other high quality skins coming.
Possible it is, but the chances are so ridiculously small.

i got elementalist lux out of a chest... buuuuuuut... it was after someone gifted me elementalist lux so all i could do was turn it into essence
"good skin" bubby don't be fooled, that's a 975 skin labeled as a legendary. DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A RECALL ANIMATION.
aside from that, i've gotten plenty legendaries out of it. The best one was when i got omega squad teemo, after buying it so i refunded it and got it from that.
Pretty sure my friend has DJ Sona from it and i've gotten Battlecast skarner recently from reroll. Got god fist lee from it and am now saving up for mecha zero sion or Nunubot as i don't have the blue essence.
i'd say those 12 gems are more impressive. (sitting at 9 atm, good thing too as the poppy skin looks fun and i've got better skins for the other options)
I get pretty lucky pulls out of them. I got 2 ultimates (Lux and Uydr) and other skins that I liked.
My friend is super lucky, he got 3 ultimate skin shards from regular S chests and a lot of legendary ones. I on the other hand was playing with him, getting chests with him and from the same chests I had big amount of champion shards, cheap legacy skins and only one legendary one. I wouldn't be sad about at all it if I would be sure that every skin has the same probability of dropping and there isn't any tricky algorithm behind it. If someone has luck then so be it, there is a hope I would get some skin that I want from chest some day. But indeed it's super frustrating getting those champion shards one after another from hard earned S chests.

I never get chests, but i have a Omega Teemo skin waiting to be either burned in to essence for a better skin or used just to not see it on my loot when i get the orange essence
