Why don't you just make a separate patch for pro players only?

So that you don't have to fuck up the entire balance of the game just because you want some flashy plays at Worlds. Give the pros access to PBE so they can practice on their patch and leave the rest at 8.18.

it's because LoL isn't just a game, it's esports as we all know, sports get changed all the time because fuck tradition and everything needs to be flashy

seriously though, imagine chess pieces and rules being massively altered just to make the game more flashy or sports like soccer or baseball having their rules massively changed right before the world series or world cup

I do believe Riot's reasoning is something along the lines of "we don't want two separate games for our players".

It honestly makes the most sense to me.

Solo Queue players can't do what Pro Players do because champions that are strong in Pro Play are gutted into non existence in Solo Queue.

And Pro Players can't do what Solo Queue players do because champions are deliberately buffed for being big playz and the Pro Players would handicap themselves if they chose something other than what was just buffed.

Why not just make two versions of the game at this point, then?

Then how do pro players practise, before the events? Practise the whole patch in riotHQ on practise tool?

If some want seperate patches for pro play, I want seperate patches for flex, where you can play 5v5 and use champions like Ryze t otheir true potential
