Nah dude riot couldnt do that. Think of all the typing they'll have to do to let us know that people shouldnt just hit a certain point and spam ranked games and drag everyone else down the level they're at because no one told them that they need more practise and need to understand the game :'( It just wouldnt be fair to do that to riot :'(
I am probably going to get downvoted to hell but there are some elements about Dota 2 that I liked more than league.
-Supports have more elbow room to roam/stack/gank/pull whereas in league you are pretty much the ADC's bodyguard for the first 10-15 mins and deviating from that will most likely get you raged at by your ally Vayne.
-Meta is a bit more varied than league, Junglers are not 100% required and you can get away with picking a ranged carry into the mid lane.
-Games normally don't devolve into a glorified ARAM match around the end
-Towers don't normally go down if you sneeze on them.
my only gripes with Dota 2 is that its pace is very slow, its very hard to comeback due to you losing gold upon death, and the community in the north american servers is infested with toxic Peruvians that expects everyone to understand Spanish even though they willingly logged into a US west/east server.
I mean it's a nice thought but you forget that to get into Dota 2 you need the freaking CliffsNotes.
League is very straight forward. Attack Damage increase the damage of your attacks. Ability power increases the power of abilities. Armor reduces physical damage. Magic resist reduces magic damage. It's a bunch of simplistic stats and abilities. While not very deep, very easy to comprehend.
Meanwhile Dota 2 has a lot of complexity. A plethora of stats that seem like mumbo jumbo. Intelligence hardly increases the spell damage of a mage but it does increase their physical attack? Magic Immunity makes you immune to magic right? No it makes you immune to specific spells and aspects of specific spells. Good luck learning every interaction.
League is a game where you can start off by just picking your character and trying to focus on what you are doing. Dota 2 is a game where new players need to learn an encyclopedia worth of information before they'll start to comprehend the game.
Some people like this, some people don't. It's the difference between Sim City and Dwarf Fortress for comparison. Being more approachable gets the bigger audience.
Going to be honest here, I could care less about what new players face. We all did the same retarded stuff at one point. If you know anything about the internet, couple searches, a view youtube videos, and some guides should tell you not to build thornmail on Ashe.
meanwhile, low level normal games are flooded with permabanned players in league of legends who either solo carry the game or give up midway trolling or afking the rest of the game.
except thornmail might actually help you duel an enemy ADC in a 1v1 now kappa
TBH I mainly like League because early game is more aggressive on every hero (way more mana/options) wheras you have to be a support or something specific like Techies/Tiny to have early game power. Every hero is fairly high impact though and things like Techies or Meepo for example couldn't exist in League's environment. Honestly if I wasn't so attached to jungling and League's power curve, DotA is just way more consistent with a lot of its features and I'd probably play more of it. Though I also find certain things like turnrate really annoying to play with
Unprofessional opinions from someone who mainly played Lycan and Venomancer.
