So what does an employee getting fired have to do with the K/DA skin?

This is the only thing that's confusing me. The person worked on Akali, but not the skin concept and got fired after completing the champion. Nothing in the links provided correlate this employee to that K/DA skin yet this movement keeps trying to force an internet mob against the K/DA skin.

Why are we only hearing about this now that a popular skin for Akali came out?

The guy who was fired is salty, both for being fired (which yeah, I get. Even in best case scenarios people would be salty over that) and that Akali went from "who's that?" outside of League to decently well know thanks to K/DA.

What I don't get is why people are jumping at this one. Of all Riot's recent publicity, this one we know the least about and is the most mundane.

Downvote those posts and move on.

If that "employee" really cared he should have cried right after akali came out, not after she gains popularity cause of a very good trailer for the K/DA skins.

Maybe he was the one who designed the shroud to not be recognized by turrets.

Fake news and people trying to take advantage of other fake news to create controversy

Do we even have any confirmation that the story of getting fired is first of all true and second of all not bias to paint said person in a better light then they deserve?

Because Akali's rework release was a very controversial one, getting lots and lots of hate because of her unbalanced gameplay. But now, she got an huuuuuge boost of popularity, one so huge that the vast majority of her new fans aren't even League players anymore. Just like the fired employee mentioned, he is proud to see her this popular, but he also use this popularity to call out Riot for their huge problems and despisable actions. You see, it is far more efficient to show Riot's true face to non-players, since those have much more impact on social medias. Why? Because of the sole reason that the LoL community has the reputation of being human beings so toxic that their opinions don't even matter. Don't believe me? Look at the David Z Klein dilemma : the sexism problems were almost completely ignored because the only "oppressed" people were part of the league community. Then, when the problem got so huge that it leaked out of the game's community, Riot quickly put a stop to it by firing David, just because they knew that their reputation is far more easily hurt by the kind of people who don't care about LoL initially. This is why this employee is calling out Riot now; he knows for sure that his words are going to hit a lot more if the world outside League who got introduced to KDA gets involved into teaching Riot a lesson

Clarification: She didn't make the KDA skin, she made the new Akali. She put a lot of effort into it and then just got fired and then no credit for making the new champion. Now her champion is one of the most popular and for some reason she got fired. Do you understand her frustration? I feel like it's kinda easy to. Imagine if that happened to you. I'd be so upset. She said she put 9 months of work into it, she was extremely stressed about it, and she worked extremely hard and canceled important life stuff just to work on it. Her boss was like, "it'll all be worth it in the end when you get credit," but then he kinda awkwardly went up to her and said he felt sorry FOR HIMSELF, NOT EVEN HER, because he was going to have to fire her. Now that champion she made is doing super well and she has gotten no recognition. Like she lost her job and I don't even think she's allowed to take credit for this on job applications. So she can't be like "I made one of the most popular champions in league," because she got fired before it was popular.

Please don't bump old threads as it's against the Board Universal Rules. Raising the dead is never a good plan anyways. I'm gonna apply a padlock.
