Just found out that the age of consent is 13 in Japan. No wonder there's so much people into lolis in japan.
Edit: from my understanding, it's also based on area and situation as well, for example consent between two native of a tribe at 13 is allowed because that's their custom while it's not allowed in cities like Tokyo.

Yes, the federal age of consent in Japan is 13, but literally every single region/province/city has a law that raises the age of consent, usually to 16 or 18. The reason the federal age of consent is so low is simply because they have not bothered to update it for roughly the last hundred years; they don't need to because every region put their own in place first.
Is it actually like no conditions age of consent?
because I remember learning in school that Canada has a really low age of consent but it's like "you need to be like 2 years older or younger than your partner we don't want 30 year olds+16 year olds but like 16 year old+16 year old is ok".
